We'll agree to disagree. I'll continue to complain that all of our gas prices are twice what they were a couple of years ago, and you do your happy dance the next time you fill up. K?
The fact that you're not the type to complain or are attacking the problem from a different angle doesn't mean that there's nothing to complain about. I'm not complaining about it either, but I can understand where anyone complaining is coming from, regardless of his or her personal circumstances.Just that I'm finding ways to manage without whining. I'm also finding ways to get around buying gas.
Sure. Of course I'm grateful that god-given abilities, years of study, and some help along the way have afforded me the luxury of owning a car and a boat.
But, my point is that gas is damned expensive. Actually, it rings even truer if you are pressed for cash. I just don't understand the notion that one should sit back and be fine with skyrocketing gas prices simply because you have worked hard and become able to afford a few amenities.
My initial post would have been the same if I drove a Hyundai.

i just struggle to understand how you can complain about it if all you're going to do is help fuel the problem even more. No pun intended there, it's just too late for me to come up with a better word.
It is a completely different thing in my mind to be struggling to fill up your hyundai or toyota or whatever fuel economy car you are driving just so you can make it to work in order to afford shelter, food and health care for your family than it is to be complaining when you are filling up sports cars and Hummers and boats.
to the doc's point, sounds like you're saying that the wealthy have no right complaining.
Maybe they could complain about all of the poor people filling their econo rides to get to work but not paying enough taxes (income and fuel taxes) to really warrant getting to use gov't provided roads. Those people are driving up the tax burden on the wealthy and needlessly generating demand for fuel.
If I were born into a well to do family with connections, and grew up in a half million dollar home, that went to the right schools, I could have been a doctor and a conservative republican telling others they are ridiculous for not being able to stiffle the whine reflex because they live in a dump. Kiddiedoc you wanna drive a hummer and haul a nice boat with it fine, I'm sure with 8 or so years of school, residency, and long hours you've earned some fluff. But cmon your gonna tell me my post was senseless because it made you feel guilty? Your response to my post sounded like a french aristocrat reminding a commoner of his station...in a word elitist.
