Nice way to lighten the air!
Not to beat a dead horse, but I don't own a Hummer. That was a different poster. I get around 27 mpg on the road, and the mileage of my car was one of the reasons I chose it (over the V8 Audi S4).

Just checking in, I payed $4.51 for premium in Portland today.
Been doing a little reading of the science rags lately. I'm not too worried. I think we could be running off algae before we get to where Europe is at right now for petrol.
All sorts of alternative cars over here... I see an average of 3-4 SmartCars a day if it's nice out. There's a few all-electric cars rolling around, plenty of mopeds, etc. I'm personally strongly considering purchasing a compressed natural gas car (probably a Honda Civic GX) and building an all-electric Suzuki GSX-R motorcycle as my daily drivers. If I'm going to be paying upwards of $5/gal for my modded Nissan 240SX, I need something cheaper to get around in.
When the people and government of the United States decides to get off its collective ass and do something about it. We've been spoiled for decades with the price of gas here. It's never going back down, and we're reaching that breaking point. Either change is made, or the entire infrastructure of the US collapses onto itself. Going to be an interesting ten years.
