I know it is the off season for this forum as well, but really?! What were you expecting?

Would love to see how the national media would handle Aguilar having a much better season than Nico
I think there's a better than 50/50 chance that it happens. Nico took a dramatic step back in the talent surrounding him. Joey took a massive step forward. Both players have little time to learn the new offense. Nico didn't pick up our playbook very fast. That's why the offense was so run oriented last year. Nico could very well end up looking terrible by the end of the season........his one and only season at UCLA.

I think your post is spot on. UT may have gotten the better part of this "trade."

Who said I’m not calm 😂. Some of us saying it’s strangely quiet is not overreacting. It’s just purely observation.
I don't think it being quite right now is remotely strange. With half the team gone and Joey presumably locked in Heup's basement learning the play book, there just isn't a lot to report.

We didn’t hear anything about Hendon Hooker either and he was absolutely awful in that Orange and White game appearance he first had. I did t think he would ever see the field and he turned out pretty dang good.

Hoping the same thing happens here, would be hysterical.
Man wouldn't it be nice to catch lightning in a bottle again🤣🤣

Lets really be honest. I said Nico sucked all last year as much as JG if not worse considering he was coached by a top 50 all time QB Heupel. Like, Nico seriously sucked. Milton was way better even. Leagues better.

This Aguilar guy will be better than Nico, Nico sucks and obviously the lockerroom didn't care much for him. JG I respect because he was similar then humbled himself and became likeable.

Im not sure 1 time last season I thought nico was good

Just think it’s odd that after being in Knoxville for three weeks, there have been no reports about what the new QB thinks about things or what his new coaches and teammates think about him.

IIRC, the team has been on break between semesters. AP said he's been watching film with coaches, at Heup's house watching film, and throwing to what few players stayed on campus during the break.

I'm pretty sure they start summer workouts this week. Could be next week. I will do some more digging and see if I can find that info.

I am also pretty sure you aren't going to be satisfied with whatever reports do come out because it will be minimal until fall camp starts in August since almost no media is allowed during summer workouts.

This. Whats there to report?

"He really likes his apartment. Think there's a hottie on his floor."

" Been eating lots of pizza. Can't wait to start summer workouts and throwing to the WRs without coaches present."

Lmao

I’d be willing to bet on it. Heupel can teach just about any QB to run the offense that we saw last year. Aguilar or Merk are both serviceable. Now, if one of them can sling it then we will be in very good shape.

Based on how everything went down, we made the best of a bad situation. Nico made the worst out of a good situation. But everybody lost on this deal..........including UCLA.
