2026 Official Seed Watch List Thread

Good start to the night…

Georgia wins
TCU wins
WF loses
Georgetown loses
Clemson loses
Texas A&M wins

Wasn’t on the list but Missouri also loses to Oklahoma, so now win Saturday and we’re getting a double bye
Tuned in to ASU/KU, OM/Vandy, and UCLA/Neb now. Hopefully can pick two more up in our favor

Well Vandy pulled it out. We can handle them ourselves this weekend tho. Kansas loses and now Nebraska down double digits early. Been a pretty good night of results.

Definitely plausible as they’ll try and avoid matching up the top SEC teams and many of them are projected on those 4/5 lines
They won’t “try” to avoid it, they HAVE to avoid it based on the rules. The first four teams selected from a conference are placed in different regions. Using Lunardi’s S-curve rankings, Florida, Alabama, us, and Arkansas would all be in different regions, so none of them would meet until the Final Four.

Correct, there’s 5 in the projected top 6 seed lines currently was what I was referencing, but yes the top 4 will get split up. If you end up with 5 SEC teams on the 4/5 lines then someone is getting paired with 1 obviously, but in that case they may ideally drop 1 to a 6.

The SEC hasn’t had a great year, but it looks like they have a shot at having 11 or even 12 teams in the NCAAT (I’d guess it will be 9). Barn would have to win at Bama and OK would have to win at Texas. Then they’d both probably need a win or two in the SECT.

Today’s slate:
6:30pm: Alabama vs. Georgia
7:00pm: TCU vs. Texas Tech
7:00pm: Wake Forest vs. Virginia
7:00pm: Georgetown vs. St. John’s
7:00pm: Clemson vs. North Carolina
7:00pm: Kentucky vs. Texas A&M
9:00pm: Kansas vs. Arizona State
9:00pm: Vanderbilt vs. Ole Miss
9:00pm: Syracuse vs. Louisville
9:00pm: BYU vs. Cincinnati
11:00pm: Utah State vs. UNLV
11:00pm: Nebraska vs. UCLA
Great evening last night for Vols…

Georgia wins
TCU wins
WF loses
Georgetown loses
Clemson loses
A&M wins
ASU wins
Ole Miss loses
Syracuse loses
Cincinnati wins
UNLV wins
UCLA wins

If we end up being a 5-seed, I’d be fine with drawing Virginia or Gonzaga. If the Zags were to land on that 4-line. UVA more preferable.
If we draw Gonzaga, it means we will be in Portland. Good chance it would be Portland with UVA too but at least it wouldn’t feel like a road game.

Looks like 5 seed now in the East bracket with 1 seed being Duke...

1 Duke
2 Michigan State
3 Iowa State
4 Gonzaga
5 Vols

What baffles me...

Texas A&M who is 20-10 and 10-7 in the SEC is on the same "work to do" line for seeding as 16-14 Auburn who is 7-10 in the SEC.
