Grimmer’s not displacing Ford at 3B unless Ford struggles mightily. Ford was one of the huge gets in the portal and agreed to move from 1B/CF to 3B, and has looked solid there so far. Ford will have every opportunity to man 3B. Plus, Grimmer isn’t known for his glove so projects more at DH or LF, but I think Brown is your everyday LF. Abernathy has all the tools to succeed in CF and at the plate as a leadoff hitter. Ultimately the players will decide who starts based on their performance and the lineup could change drastically from opening day to SEC to postseason.

I was envious of Vandy having Enrique Bradfield in CF and have wanted someone like him who could cover a ton of territory. Abernathy is the closest we've had with elite speed. And it sounds like he's a stud at the plate too.

Agree if Grimmer is going to unseat anyone from a starting position it is Brown or Chapman which will be a tough task. It is a good problem to have when you have Grimmer, Wright and Myatt all fighting for a starting spot.
