From other things CKC said, I think Boyd showed herself to be the prototype or role model for "how" CKC wants them to play.CKC has declared on a few occasions that Boyd was the future, I have no idea what that means in the face of the freshman talent coming in.
I would also add that coach has complimented Boyd as being the most consistently hard-working player in practice. Given the coach said that part of her system involves challenging practices, I imagine that her efforts there also make Boyd a role model. From other things CKC said, I think Boyd showed herself to be the prototype or role model for "how" CKC wants them to play.
That "How" check list would probably include 1) hustle, 2) defensive aggressiveness that seeks to create turnovers, and 3) offensive aggressiveness, pushing the ball or breaking out ahead looking to create fast break opportunities.*
In a word--even though a freshman--Kaniya played with an exploitive mindset. If you put 5 of those on the court at once, they should generate chaos on opposing teams.
*I'll bet y'all can identify other traits of Kaniya's play that exemplify CKC's system being played as intended.
I love the fact that when she said that when your 2 minutes was up, I want you to be tired! Sit down for a rest. That means extreme aggression and I really love that. From other things CKC said, I think Boyd showed herself to be the prototype or role model for "how" CKC wants them to play.

The challenge is can she be a decent shooter. If she could shoot Spenser like, she could be good. But she can’t still be the 2023 jump shooter. From other things CKC said, I think Boyd showed herself to be the prototype or role model for "how" CKC wants them to play.

I think she's got shooting in her. She finished the season with our 3rd best FG%, and practically tied for 3rd in FT%.The challenge is can she be a decent shooter. If she could shoot Spenser like, she could be good. But she can’t still be the 2023 jump shooter.
I have lived in North Carolina since 1988. Presently in Lillington, 20 miles from Sanford where I work, and where Sarah Strong played in high school. I was, and currently still am, the sports editor of the local newspaper in Sanford.Moving back from where ?
No, they stopped playing there before I was born (the "1973" is my birth year). The first game I saw the Lady Vols play was actually in 1981, when they played at ETSU. My dad was a student at ETSU at the time and took me to a game. But I saw them play at Stokely later on, when I lived closer to Knoxville. I went to high school for a year with Shelley Sexton's younger brother, the year Pat won her first natty. We moved to NC a year later, but I did see them win the 96 natty in Charlotte. I still say the semifinal win over the Fighting Genos was the best college women's game I ever attended. The good old days. Did you see them play in Alumni Gym? My first game as a tot was, interestingly, Lady Vols vs. Marshall in Alumni Gym. We lost![]()

I'm 52 now. Moving to Rogersville, which is just down the road from mom, who lives in Kingsport and is 73. Both she and my wife (who is from Florida of all places, but not a Gator!) encouraged the move. I'll miss working in sports but if this is the end, I've seen a lot of great players. Sarah is far from the only one. Just wish Kim had been in Knoxville a few years sooner, and maybe she wouldn't be playing for Geno.![]()

Probably because we have ten perimeter players and four post players and there is no one out there that we need anymore. Going to be hard to keep all 14 of these players happy with enough playing time. Plus more Nil money per player the 14 get to split up that other share.Just wondering why is she not getting one more, . Is there a reason?
Welcome to Rogersville. While I don't live there any more, I was born there in 1938. It. is a historic little town which still is proud of its heritage. When I graduated form UT, I moved to the Atlanta area and went to work for the CDC. I worked there for 34 years and retired to Tellico Village when my wife retired in 2000. I think you will enjoy my home town. I have thousands of happy memories and still go back there to visit my nieces who live there.I have lived in North Carolina since 1988. Wow you were born in '38? That's amazing that you are still involved in/still support Tennessee Athletics. I'd admire that. I hope I'm still alive at your age. To be able to get on the forum and converse on Volnation is impressive in its own right. So thank you for your support for all these years.Welcome to Rogersville. Sorry. I couldn’t help myself. I know better and shared in Potpourri, but too funny not to share here too. Love me some Leanne…
Thank you. I still play golf two times a week, work out at the gym three times a week, and I lift light weights every night before goin to bed. I try to stay active because when you stop, it is difficult to get back into it once you stip. My mom was 103 when she died and I told one of my Docs that I plan on out living her.Wow you were born in '38? That's amazing that you are still involved in/still support Tennessee Athletics.
