The 33% FG shooting is a concern, as is the 4 TO a game. But definitely fits the style of play. Hopefully Caldwell can create some efficiencies in her, solid get.
That % would have been right around 3rd best on the team (Jewel was 38%, Samara 37% and Tess 34%). 40% is the gold standard for excellence but 33% = 50% from the two point range.

Hopefully, she can boost that but 33% is sufficiently good.

I agree. She will be playing around better talent. If you can average close to 20ppg in a major conference you are a scoring threat, I believe a key to this signing is she’s either a scoring option off the bench or someone who alongside the starters can make plays one on one. Most of the offense is built off of using that spacing to create offense.
She can certainly create offense and will get looks that she likely had to work extremely hard to create that will come easier in this offense surrounding by athletes.

On edit.
You have the correct info on her 3pt shooting. It's her 2 pt percentage that's a concern.
Nya for 3 years is 36.5% from 2pt range, 33.3% from 3 and 34.9% overall.
Last year those numbers were
33.4% from 2pt range, 31.2% from 3pt range and 32.5% overall.

Looks good to me....

Folks was talking crazy on here I see. I like how you don't back down to them. Coach Kim Caldwell and her staff has a plan and apparently it's working to a T! Nobody new who Zee Spearman was, nobody new who Alyssa Latham was, nobody new what Tay Coop would look like either under the new staff. Let me remind the ones in the back...Coach Kim Caldwell has WON every where she's been at and at every level. She also DEVELOPS players. So fans who don't believe...have a SEAT! We don't need players who want this and that type money. Nya Robertson, Kaniya Boyd, Mia & Mya Pauldo are fixing to be a problem in the SEC.

Plus, when teammates are deferring to you the ball ends up in your hands as the shot clock is expiring and you have to take a low % shot. I think she will adjust and fit in well.

In the SMU games I watched that happened a lot. Product of bad coaching. On a better team she’ll be a better player.

Sounds like Virginia paid a boatload for S’Myah Smith. Won’t change much for them imo. She could have helped a good team but can’t save a really bad one.
Is Smith to UVA official? Them having a boatload to offer is the news here to me.
