Gimme Kneepkens and Williams and I'm good But, I think we'll get T'yona from BC. And, maybe 1 or 2 more.
Just my opinion, but if Kneepkins goes to a contender she could tilt the scales in their direction. I like her game a lot obviously.I’ll really get into the portal recruiting in a week or so following the Nike Hoops Summitt and Chipotle National Championship tourney featuring UT commit Deniya Prawl.
After watching the McDAAG, you can sense the excitement and anticipation from Coach Tubner and some of our players as well as others for the arrival of this recruiting class. Over social media it was pretty much a consensus that the Lady Vols have the best incoming recruiting class in 2025.
Mia Pauldo was the best player on the court and Jaida Civil flashed elite athleticism that has both LV fans and fans in general saying Civil is arguably the best athlete of the 2025 class.
I came away equally impressed with Deniya Prawl ability to rebound as a Wing and her ball handling skills at a rangy 6’2.
We’re looking at 3 bonafide future All-Americans that gave a East Team that were put in a 18-0 hole by poor play from its starting 5 and coaching decisions to atleast while they WERE on the court together a competitive game. All of that and haven’t even really got a chance to see Mya Pauldo and Lauren Hurst hit the court Lambo Vols style.
Coach Caldwell, Coach Lazo, and Coach Tubner have recruited better than any SEC staff in the country in one year!
CKC about to cook and bring in some post players via the portal with the possibility of one more player that understands playing time is stringent in those loaded guards positions on Rocky Top.
Get your popcorn ready. GBO!
Knox, unlike some others, I like your consistency in support of your LV’s. I realize you are a homer for UT recruits, but I agree they are an exciting group to watch come into the SEC together. The energy that Pauldo plays with is exciting to watch, if her twin is almost as good then UT nailed the PG slot in this class. Civil should be another Horston type, which is a good thing. Prawl likely is a workhorse, every team needs those. I’m genuinely excited for the LV’s going forward, I expect them to climb the SEC ranks fast now.I’ll really get into the portal recruiting in a week or so following the Nike Hoops Summitt and Chipotle National Championship tourney featuring UT commit Deniya Prawl.

Biggest surprise for me so far in the portal after Miles leaving ND is S. Smith leaving LSU. I’m not a rumor guy, but it’s been posted all over the net that she and Poa were a couple, almost always a bad decision to mix work and personal life, esp on a team. I feel like deleting this post already tbh, none of our business. But it’s already out there. Anyway, she was really coming on strong lately and I am sure LSU will miss her game.
She was playing 20/10 ball recently from their post position. DelRosario (sp?) not the answer for her replacement, I expect them to be in the portal sweepstakes for a good big esp since Morrow is gone now. They seem to have the funds to be players in the portal every year. I am expecting them to land a very nice big from the portal, if not the girl from Wisconsin, someone like Kate Koval who is close to being a dominant post imo.
Knox will be their Morrow replacement, but how do you replace a player like Morrow who was the best all around player this year in the SEC? Good thing they recruit so well. Their backcourt is going to be special for the next 3-4 years If those freshman live up to their rankings. Z Johnson especially is a promising AA candidate.
McMahon at 6’ won’t fill Smith’s role, but she and Knox can work together to fill Morrow’s role best they can. They’ll replace Smith with someone from the portal. I think McMahon is headed to LSU and she can fill that role reasonably well. Has to improve her motor on the boards.
Definitely a relationship between Smith and Poa, not a rumor at all at this point. That’s why Poa was suspended for part of the season.
There is an LSU site that speaks on this more, involving a third member of the team in a supposed triangle that messed with team chemistry, but I am prone to not believe fan sites as we all know most of this speculation from fans is just that. They’ll replace Smith with someone from the portal. I think McMahon is headed to LSU and she can fill that role reasonably well. Has to improve her motor on the boards.

I think you are right, she may be at the root of it all. Wow. Isn’t she the one who made some comments about people’s preferences? I’m shocked right now that a school of ND’s pedigree is losing players to the portal, players that were a big part of their plans.I think it’s Hildago at this point.

We haven’t even seen what CKC will bring in from the portal yet, which based upon last year’s results, should be upgrades all around.
Coop isn’t going anywhere, she did a local interview in SC recently, she feels she is in the right place for her game and I agree.
UT will be even better next season Knox, you are right about that, there is big momentum going on. It will be great for the game if UT to keeps climbing back up the ladder they once built, great for TV and great for marketing the sport.I don’t get why some fans completely ostracized Talaysis Cooper with these unhappy and transferring rumors, but it was always a weak and petty claim. Cooper absolutely thrived this year at Tennessee. She has made a name for herself and will have opportunities this summer and heading into next season to gain even more exposure.
After transferring, Coop just as the Pauldo twins probably didn’t envision being surrounded by this much talent and a great young coach to compete for a SEC and Nat’l Championship this soon at Tennessee.
We have a team of star talent that can make each other better. Whitehorn, Spearman, Coop and company all got the keys to the ship now.
GBO!
I’d like to say something here. Recently a LV poster on one of these threads posted that once CKH was released, CKC was their first choice and they said they knew she would be the best hire. I don’t recall any poster mentioning Caldwell’s name in the days leading up to the hire. In fact, most had never heard of her and everyone was scrambling to learn about her. A year later and a poster says they had her pegged from the start?
I mention that because I believe the only one that had her on their radar was your AD, D. White. And if that doesn’t tell you how far down the road looking that guy is than nothing will. He is a rockstar amongst AD’s in my book. That took some brass you know what to pull that trigger. Looks like he nailed it again. He might even buy a new jacket now![]()
Call me a conspiracy theorist, but I doubt all members of the forum are vested in the success of the Lady Vols. Some are here to sow dissension. The more successful the Lady Vols are, the more insidious the disinformation.I don’t get why some fans ridiculously kept forcing the issue of Talaysis Cooper being unhappy and transferring rumors, but it was always a weak and petty claim. Chuck, If I called you a conspiracy theorist I would be starting another Conspiracy theory. Not going there….Call me a conspiracy theorist, but I doubt all members of the forum are vested in the success of the Lady Vols. Some are here to sow dissension. Boyd was also recruited by KHUT will be even better next season Knox, you are right about that, there is big momentum going on. It will be great for the game if UT to keeps climbing back up the ladder they once built, great for TV and great for marketing the sport.
Btw, Mia Pauldo imo will be electric, even at the college level. I expect her defense and assists to be elite and she can carve out a scoring role also for UT in their system. Her energy is off the charts.
Coop, Whitehorn and Spearman are a great nucleus to build around. Latham might join that group with some of the freshman next season. Next year will be an almost complete changeover from CKH’s squads since Tess and Sara are now gone. Spear and Spencer will be missed, but the volume of talent coming in behind them is a plus plus. Outside of Coop, is Wynn the only holdover now other than Strickland and E. Darby? I forget because the changeover has been so fast and complete.
