That will be the ceiling if we don’t get another Bonafide scorer …. Wow have times changed… used to be a time were we would kill to get to the elite 8 … the bar keeps on getting higher

Easy for you to say when you don’t have to juggle the rest and handle the locker room, personally I would say they should’ve paid McKneely and not Rice.

Maybe an extra million makes a difference, but it seemed like McKneely was an issue of credits transferring, not necessarily money.

Maybe, to me that never made sense because usually that’s ironed out prior to wasting an OV

Probably not always in the portal world, though, where you're trying to move at warp speed many times.

Rice dragging it out and us waiting on him ended any chance at an elite 2 guard. We put all the eggs in that basket and came up short. Should have pressed for an answer and then moved on in hindsight.

Man there ain’t much, I’ll be honest…went through the On3 portal ranking earlier and got to about 600 ranked guys and there wasn’t much beside Kimble who’s redshirting this year now.

Well I was referring to the portal, international there really isn’t much left either that fits the bill, maybe 1-2 names potentially. Yes if the 5th year passes that would open up a whole new list of possibilities, but I think relying on that is risky, however might be our only move at this point.

Any nuggets from first week of practice in this regard? Like if staff feels confident with pieces in place now seeing them together? etc etc.

I think hoping for Gainey/ZZ is better than taking a warm body, but man I wish we had another shooter, which neither of those really are. Gainey helps open things up with the midrange though.

Oh I know. It just seems like warm bodies are pretty much all that’s left. I think we’ll be fine as is if that’s what it comes to. But in addition to JG and Ament, we will need someone else to be a threat, whether that’s Abram, Evans, or the French dude.

Not sure how recent the interest was from teams, obviously Tennessee still being interested makes a lot of sense.

Not sure of the worry about a SG and why everyone thinks we need one so bad. Cade Phillips is gonna go off this season. He will average fitty points and twenty rebounds and become the National player of the year. Tennessee goes undefeated and wins their first National Championship.

It’s not a miss if the player is asking for a lot more money than you’re willing to pay.
