It is my last name. In hindsight, I would probably not use it, but I’ve had it for about 25 years since I was originally on VolQuest.
While I did attend UT, I don’t know of any family from DC or Knoxville. My extended family was all from Texas. I wouldn’t be surprised if there was some connection many years ago.

Very interesting stuff and thanks for sharing. I don't know many of the extended family with the same last name but most of my close family were in the military, are in the medical field or were educators. My grandfather, Dr. Gee, was an Army doctor and very respected psychiatrist who treated some famous post-WW2 cases such as Ezra Pound while younger. He ended up eventually at UT hospital after he moved south in the decade after WW2 to start his own practice.
Great man who built my love for the Vols by taking me to most home games from 1988 - 1998 until I got to an age that I preferred hanging with friends and he was too old to make the walk after catching the bus from the parking garages near the civic coliseum. Still regret that but glad we experienced a UT championship together as he is my hero and father figure. I never even knew his many honors and accomplishments in the war and psychiatric medicine because he was so humble. But, it amazed me as a kid how it seemed like everyone, of all races, in Fountain City and Knoxville in general seemed to know, highly respect and very much like Dr. George Gee. I was always proud just to be by his side....wish my kids could have met him.
