JP wasn't hurt in the offseason, though. So Cade seemed content with his role heading into last season. The problem is that you can’t develop if you don’t get minutes in real games.
Cade will be a junior and he will be out transferred twice. 1st with Igor and then with Carey. If JP didn’t get hurt , he might’ve transferred last year.
He honestly should have redshirted that season, would have been great to have him as only a RS soph. But of course nowadays I know players can leave at any notice too so I don’t know how much it mattersCade will be a JR. He played in 13 games as a freshman, including 3 SEC games and the NCAAT win vs St. Peters.
Didn't everyone expect the same for Vescovi with Knect drawing so much attention? He'll get more wide open looks with Jakobi. Why do you think Rice shot it so well. Rice won't get thise open looks at Niva and his game will suffer because of UT. Remember guys Jakobi can sxorein bunches, but he's a pass first PG. Rice's game will suffer because of that.
I think he was got hurt in September... but yeah, it might've been more because Awaka and Aidoo not coming back. With transfer coming in he probably felt he could at least beat out one of them for minutes. With Carey coming in, I think he's starting to realize it's time to move on.JP wasn't hurt in the offseason, though. So Cade seemed content with his role heading into last season.
Cade didn't redshirt as a freshman in large part because all of his teammates said that they needed him and what he brought to the team. His aggressiveness & so forth stood out, his teammates mentioned this early that season. He honestly should have redshirted that season, would have been great to have him as only a RS soph. Yes, preserving eligibility for the sake of the program is a thing of the past it seems unless the player is requesting it. And if the 5-yr rule passes, redshirts will be eliminated altogether. He honestly should have redshirted that season, would have been great to have him as only a RS soph. Prince was "just a guy" as a freshman , though. Averaged like 6 points and then blossomed as a SO. Listed at 215 lbs...I'm not sure when that weight was official, but it's 30 lbs heavier than Ament, which is significant and their height and weight. Hopefully Ament manages the physicality and/or adds 20 lbs this offseason.
If you want a good laugh... go look at these UK fans saying they didn't want Ament anyways because he's too skinny lol. Also I guess they have amnesia and forgot about that beatdown they took from us in the tourney.
Also Tayshaun Prince was about the same size as Ament and he did just fine in the big bad SEC that they're talking about.
Redshirting as a freshman has not been a "sake for the team" situation for the Vols lately. Every freshman that starts out redshirting has ended up transferring away - the last examples of this was just last year with DJ Jefferson redshirting & Freddie Dilione coming in a year early sitting.Yes, preserving eligibility for the sake of the program is a thing of the past it seems unless the player is requesting it. IMHO, a healthy JP > Carey.I think he was got hurt in September... but yeah, it might've been more because Awaka and Aidoo not coming back.
