2025 Transfer Portal Thread

Are the days of watching a player grow and develop in our program for 4 years completely over? I was holding out hope we might continue to have 1 or 2 each year, but it’s shaping up to be a near complete roster flip every season. As a spectator that makes the product much less appealing to me.
Couldn't agree more. If Cade were to transfer it would be extremely disheartening to me. The most enjoyable aspect of college sports has always been seeing young athletes develop, sometimes have to wait their turn, and reap the rewards of hard work. In my view, that is even more rewarding when combined with loyalty. Oh well, those days are about over.

Keep in mind for some of these guys it’s as much about their role on a team as it is the $’s. The fact that Vols are in on several top tier players could be a bit of a stalemate for the lot until the first one commits. They’re going to want to know if they’re “just a guy”, a “key guy” or “THE guy, before making a final decision. And CRB is much more likely to have answered that question to potential transfers “it depends” vs other coaches that would just tell them whatever they think the player wants to hear.

The problem is that you can’t develop if you don’t get minutes in real games.
Cade will be a junior and he will be out transferred twice. 1st with Igor and then with Carey. If JP didn’t get hurt , he might’ve transferred last year.
