Probably the same reason we weren’t sold on destinee alone next year… Yo said she doesn’t care it’s just bidness

Maybe deans transfers. Also deans can easily slide to the 2 just at the cost of size

Probably because everyone posting on here said it was a constant in out pattern. Also there was no rant until you missed my point like 3 times!!!!

I had to laugh at the notion of Rickea being subbed for every 2 mins. Her head would literally explode. I've never seen a player who hated coming out more, except maybe at the very end of blow outs.

IMO limited mins is going to be a big recruiting problem. Conflicting stories here whether there are actual 5 out 5 in subs, but most liberal accounts say it's every 3-4 min subs. And most telling, Marshall only had one player who average 30 mins. For many elite players, and most certainly for Ms RIckea Jackson, that won't be enough. Rythmn was a big part of her game.

That's just not true. Did you watch KJH post game pressers? She talked often and at length what a great and special player RJ was. Talked about how sometimes she caught herself just watching her. Mentioned often how high the standard for RJ was, and how a bad game for her was a career game for others. Made a point in the presser right after the AA snub to say Rickea is an All American and most definitely one of the top ten players in the country. Talked quite movingly in the last presser about how lucky she was to have coached a player like that.

That wasn’t enough, just listen how Neil Ivey or Lim set Fortlieb talk about their stars, a;ways praising and promoting them, because they know they have elite players and they acknowledge that. Kellie said she watched her and it was the same sentence every time but it wasn’t enough for me. Doesn’t matter now they both are gone and we won’t have to worry about getting a player like that again for many years.

VolBall09, I just saw on FB that Janiah Barker's portal entry indicates "do not contact," which likely means she's already decided. Some are speculating LSU. Ugh.

i think we may be overstating the playing time issue just a bit. if she doesn't have 10 players to sub in 5 at a time, then she won't. she's not gonna put players who are horrible on defense into a rotation. she'll likely rest people here and there and roll with the best players. i mean she has more incentive than ANYone to get this right. more than us, more than the players, and even more than DW. above all, you can put me in the camp of a fan who loves the past but craves some changes to our X and O game. there will be no standing around, no dribbling into the corner, no walking up the ball.... sounds like exciting ball to me.

I’m sorry, I haven’t read through much of this thread but I want to say, I fully believe that Kellie and company would’ve ate this portal up if she was still here!

I know she’s not the coach anymore and we need to be behind KC but I still can’t wrap my mind around the NIL being Kellie’s main pitfall, and the year it’s fixed, she’s fired! Kellie managed the portal as well as any coach in the country and this season it’s loaded. We had 2 recruits ready to visit and possibly would’ve signed and we fire her! I wasn’t a Kellie support by far, but this was just IGNORANT during this time. She needed 1 more year. Nobody is coming to play for a no name y’all! Why can’t yall see that?!?!

Because she couldn't recruit high school players worth a damn, and there was no reason to believe that was going to change. You are assuming that the NIL excuse is valid .... I'm skeptical. I know that some of the people at Spyre are big time Lady Vol fans.

The VN and Twitter fanatics couldn’t downplay the interview and a factual statement made about recruiting earlier by Coach Caldwell so now they are portal experts. This just me but if I felt this season was going to be so bad and wasn’t satisfied with the decision made by the AD I would put my time and energy into something else.

You don't think Tennessee will have a player as good as Rickea Jackson for many years? I don't think the odds are with you on that one.

You're speaking common sense, and it's how I've felt since Sunday. Who's coming here now? And why?

But I will say, she really was impressive today and I think she can make a case to recruits. If only she had one to make, lol. I make myself feel better and worse at the same time. It's going to be a very tough sell, but if she could just get one or two to make it all look legit. OTOH, now apparently she has to start by re-recruiting her own roster. Sheesh.

Ridiculous. Yes, there is a case to be made for the Tennessee women's basketball program. It was a tough sell for Kellie Harper .... but I hear a salesman when I listen to Kim Caldwell.
