I would normally agree, but now with the transfer portal it has changed. Playing time and money trump winning sometimes.I’m skeptical of this coach but she’s starting to grow on me. Hopefully she’ll exceed all expectations! Elite athletes will come not knowing the minutes they’ll get as long as they are winning. Several players go sit behind players because they know their time will come and that they will compete for titles. Winning can cure a lot.
I didn’t love her recruiting answer for this reason. The money made playing bball in college might be the biggest salary some players ever see. And some players just want to be on the court a lot or to start.I would normally agree, but now with the transfer portal it has changed. Playing time and money trump winning sometimes.
the leader in minutes played at Marshall averaged more minutes per game than the leader at South Carolina. We should be able to get players.
Actually you got nothing.I see. Just a magical standard that suddenly appears for the new coach that didn't apply to the old coaching staff. Got it.
She plays her best players the mostActually you got nothing.
Given Coach C’s system of a lot of subbing that is a legitimate question. Will a top kid get enough minutes to put up the numbers that will get them recognition? It is about her system. It has nothing to do with Kellie nor is it a criticism. It is strictly a question about whether Coach C’s system, which worked great in D2 and a mid-major situation will work as well when the best players have personal goals like being an AA and playing in the WNBA.
I've played in this defensive system, full-court press baseline to baseline 40 minutes of hell. It's hard to go 100% for much longer than 3 minutes at a time. Imagine trying to run a mile at a dead sprint and then shoot a 3-pointer with proficiency. Turn that into half a mile and it's doable.
It's a really fun defensive system.
Marshall's top player averaged 30 minutes/game. With slight adjustments, it could work and make the top players happy. Your starting 5 could be in for the first and last 3.5 minutes of every quarter. Based on Marshall's minutes stats, that kind of looks like her normal pattern.
Interestingly I don’t think they shot enough 3s this game only 35%. They wanna be closer to 45%Well she does hockey sub for sure but sometimes it’s the same girls going right back in or just 3 or 4
Look at the mins averaged. I posted her Marshall vs WF game

I hate to bug you again but I see 12 assists. How many to’s?Well she does hockey sub for sure but sometimes it’s the same girls going right back in or just 3 or 4

View attachment 633322Pretty consistent even in Florida win. They shot better. U can see the DNA.
I think we have some good rebounders/SEC DNA to go with this system too
Instead of posting all that blah blah blah, why don't you look at the minutes players averaged at UT vs Marshall. Then you won't have to go on your rant that you obviously didn't Google to find out.Actually you got nothing.

agreed! they put up a ton of shots against florida from every category, and they almost stayed with them in rebounding. pretty impressive actually.View attachment 633322Pretty consistent even in Florida win. They shot better. U can see the DNA.
