When Madi gets here, Justine will be a junior....The two of them bombing, from well beyond the arc, will spell championships.

Right now she is leaning towards another program, GT.
The kid wants to be wanted and right now the other program is showing her just that.
Maybe it will change, maybe not
I have backed off of publicly pushing her ,,,but
"The grass is always greener in someone else's back yard"

GT would be a good fit for her. Have watched a ton of her film because of how much you have pushed her on here. She has a nice shot but she’s not very athletic (let’s all be honest and keep an open mind here).

Doesn’t mean she can’t have a great career but I do not think she possess the speed or vertical leap the Tennessee staff seem to be interested in. She’ll likely have a career similar to Darby as a set shooter. She won’t be handling the ball at the next level like she does now. She certainly wouldn’t be attacking the rim in the SEC. Just not enough leap there for her to be effective. Would get swatted on every play.

Also seems like her mother is very involved in promoting her, which is fine, but is something I think the UT staff is very wary of. We have a wonderful group of parents who let the coaches coach and support their kids. Seems like they really stay out of things other than cheering on their daughters and the program. They aren’t still trying to promote their kids like we see some other parents (Cough Hayes, Cough cough Reese lol).

If your kid is good enough and has the right attitude they will come to you, not the other way around.

Her team finished 3-1 playing in 16-17U top division Played in front if multiple coaches (30+) Alabama Michigan have already called her coach this morning.

And she continues to work on her weaknesses with me this summer.

As I said, set shooter in college. Great percentage from three and nice shooting. But just not that athletic. Looks very much like Tess’ high school film except I would venture to say Tess has a higher BBall IQ.

You can work on it as much as you want, but there are physical limitations. She has zero elevation when she penetrates.

Just as you like to give your assessment I’ll give mine.

points taken and agree.
She has to work on attacking, elevation and setting up her drive off of the correct foot on breakaways and attacks,,,but I have no doubt we will get there

I agree her athleticism needs a little work, but damn, the girl can shoot...Perhaps with coaches help she will improve just enough.

Her twitch muscles may be a little limited, but damn, the girl can shoot.

I have also watched film on this kid and have watched her in person on the circuit, she is nothing like Darby. This kid can create her own shot with side steps, step backs and can shoot accurately from volleyball line. RANGE RANGE RANGE. Her first step is very fast and her ball handling is top notch.
I do agree she isn't very athletic but she can work on that she is just a sophomore. Shooters like that dont come along often and I hate to say this but if TN doesn't want this kid that is literally sitting in their back yard then by golly it is THEIR LOSS.... BIG TIME LOSS

and as far as her mom goes i don't see she is doing anything wrong other than bragging on her kid which everyone does. I guess it's OK for some to do it but not others. I dont see her mom meddling in any coaches business or doing anything negative
I welcome it. I love keeping up with athletes and how they are progressing in the game.

I can name multiple players for TN right now that doesn't have this kids talent or skills so I don't believe for a minute she isn't good enough

Like I said if other P5 schools are reaching out she is obviously good ENOUGH, maybe she just doesn't fit TN and that's ok

I understand TN going after higher ranked players
I do
3 point specialist that are top 25ers are rare, (e.g..Justine)
but players who shoot like she does against top tier defenders are rare
Madi went 21/35 from 3 60% in this tourney and it isn't the first time I have seen those numbers but, again, I don't second guess coach K
She knows what she needs and I have had her back since before she even got here and my position has not changed

I didn’t notice any of the parents we have now pushing their child’s recruiting as much as she does. It’s definitely not something this staff goes for.

And you haven’t watched Tess HS film clearly. She looked much better and had zero issue creating her shot in high school. Has deep range and a beautiful shot.

Hawk will not be able to get her shot off at the next level. Will also be severely limited defensively which I believe is one of the main things our coaching staff looks at. How will they matchup in the SEC?

I have the dissenting opinion here, I’m aware, I wish the best for her, but do not envision her in Lady Vol orange. 🤷🏼‍♂️

For what it is worth, I'm pro-Madi...quickness and athleticism can be improved in the gym [as this improves in many once they become LVs] but great shooting is a gift...Many work on their shooting constantly, but see little improvement...maybe she and KJH have an understanding and are keeping it quiet 🤫 that she will be a Lady Vol...I sure hope so 🤞 LVFL 🧡🏀🧡

if she comes in and fills a role on a 15 woman team doesn't mean she has to be a starter or the first woman off the bench. From what I have seen she could be an asset to the team. I'll also say this if Tess can learn to play defense in a team setting and learn i think there is hope for Maddie. I think it also goes with who we sign in the 23 class and who may jump into the portal.

Well let's just hope another SEC team or any team for that matter gets her and she SHOOTS us outta the gym...
ALL I will say is you can take a team with 5 Athletic players and put them agasint 5 ELITE SHOOTERS and I guarentee you the fundamental skilled SHOOTERS will win. (Look at iowa state) they just wore TN out in the 3 on 3 game and they didn't have 1 athletic player what they did have was elite shooters
I dont think HAWK wants to go to TN anyway from what I've heard through the grapevine
What's it to you or anyone else what madi MOM does 🤣 sounds like you might be a little salty towards madi and her mom

Fully a fair point. Anyone who can shoot the ball like that will be an asset. Based on who I’ve seen our staff after I just don’t think she fits the mold. Kellie and company seem to prefer much more versatile players rather than a niche shooter.

Had Tess been 2024 or later I doubt she’d make the UT team unless as a preferred walk-on like Edie.
