2021 Fall Practice #14

This is true. The alcohol based penetrating leather dye used in the manufacture of White leather shoes creates a a shoe with much lower surface tension and a almost non existent drag coefficient which does allow an athlete to shave femtoseconds from their 40's. Laser measured non wind assisted of course.

And I thought it was they looked so cool the athlete just had a extra burst of adrenaline. I like your explanation much better.

I like what I am hearing about Milton - Its good someone is establishing themselves as starter and I love the fact that we finally have people who can sling it downfield with ease - and coaches who want to

I agree. The more I read the more excited I get.
Really impressed how he was able to come in so late and pick up the system so quick and fit in with the team.

Another thing that Kyberson said that I didn’t hear that was brought up by another poster was that Cooper is a little small and may get shoved around by SEC NT’s. I went back and heard it for myself. If that is the case and if Spraggins is everything they say and you say then maybe move Carvin to center. Spraggins and Mays at guard, Wright and Davis at tackle gives you the best five. If this OL starting five is now set as your trusted Knoxville media says it is and given the nuisance about Cooper then I wonder if Ellerbe is trying to keep Daddy Mays happy. Hope not !!!

If you went back and listened, then you heard him also say that being able to get the line in the right alignments is more important than size, etc. He was actually defending the decision to put him in a center. It's a bit disingenuous to listen to that and use it as an excuse to question the coach's decision.

And again for the hundredth time they only see warmups and a few drills. Again you interject your opinions that really don’t mean ****. And yes I have played on championship basketball teams in high school and as walk on at Tennessee. So again I don’t need you to lecture me on what a team player is and all that other BS. Cade Mays I am sure will play RT if told and will be fine and not say a word or demonstrate an attitude. But no coach or jerk off fan can make him like it. That is just human nature.

You trust the Knoxville media and take their word to the bank. Fine it’s still your right to do so. I have been following UT football for 50 years and in preseason outside of the bits and pieces they get from managers etc they offer little except speculation etc. I never take their word to the bank.
Where are you getting your insight/opinion?

Hate to jump in your all‘s discussion but I think 2 points need to be stated. First, center is not a job somebody just moves to. They are the middle LB for the offense. They call the alignment for the OL. The other is why Mays is playing tackle. Tenn‘s best 5 has excess guards and not enough tackles. Mays can play both guard and tackle so in order to start the best 5 he plays tackle. Davis will probably get plenty of playing time because of May’s ability to move inside Davis can sub for any of the starters and they just move Mays over.
Well said. Kerbyson alluded to this in the clip the poster mentioned.

So how do you know the best five forces Mays to play RT ? Still 2 weeks before game day. Because Hubbs, Wallace, Brown and the other Knoxville media say so. I will take Kyberson’s opinion over theirs. According to Kyberson, Cooper is a little light to be playing as an SEC center. Feels he will be pushed around by heavy SEC NT. He said he probably weighs in the 290’s. He should know he coached him at Catholic and has watched practice all the way thru not just warmups. I have already discussed this with another poster that the best five might be Wright/ Spraggins left side, Carvin more experienced and heavier at center, and Mays/Davis right side. That is if Davis or someone steps up in the next two weeks. The K-Town media would have us believing a decision on the first unit has been made. I don’t buy it two weeks out. Maybe this time next week you might know something from the coaches.
That's not what he said at all. He actually said that this lineup should be great as soon as they gel and learn how to work with one another and know how each other plays--strengths, weaknesses, etc... He actually says that Cooper's smarts should make him a better center and make up for any perceived size problem. The only talk about "being pushed around" or "ending up in the QBs lap" was saying, "With that kind of smarts, all you need is to hold your own and not get pushed around." Their opinion was that they wish Cooper was a little bigger, but he has a bright future at Center.

They were VERY complimentary of him there. You are COMPLETELY misrepresenting their commentary.
