2020 Primaries

And why do you think the FFs chose a different way to elect that one office? Even if you want to go with your incorrect assertion of southern states and slavery, why did they come up with the EC? To bring the states together. Why did they add the Bill of Rights? To bring the states together. Why did they write the Constitution in the first place? To bring the states together. Everything they did was to "form a more perfect union". Not a perfect union, because that doesn't exist, but a "more perfect union". It had to work for all of the states, otherwise, why would they accept and ratify it? Why do you think it takes two-thirds of the states to amend the Constitution? States have rights just as individuals have rights. The compromise to address both was the EC.

A good parallel to work from is the European Union. France is still France; Germany is still Germany; the people inside countries identify as German, French, etc. However, they set up a cooperative "higher" tier, the EU, to make some things easier. Brexit is like Southern secession - they didn't like where things were headed. My thought has always been the EU was suffering significantly from creeping federalism, and the Brits were the first country to be unhappy enough about losing their identity to do something about it ... and then there's the financial aspect that went with it - propping up other countries. We've made our union last a long time (forced and unforced compliance), but federalism is going to be the thing that kills it.

I don't think he's understood this, though it's been repeated several times. He wants to argue from his narrow idea of "fairness" when it's just as legitimate to argue that :fairness: is the ability to tend your own self interest. You do away with the EC and many/most states' self interest is to secede and form unions that serve them better. If it's true that population density is a major issue, you'll have more sparsely populated areas banding together--;ikely including NorCal breaking away from SoCal, that's been driving their state all along.

You'll end up with densely populated patches, importing food from [a] separate farm nation.

Complacency has led people to believe that rebellion in our country could not happen in today's world. I think we haven't had enough incentive to test that theory, so why create it?

Last time Bernie didn't care about Hillary's "damn e-mails," and this time he doesn't care about Biden's dementia.
Probably Trying to secure a fourth house. Let's keep this in perspective. If Bernie won the Whitehouse he might actually have to work. He ain't doing that ! :)

And conservatives have done everything possible to hinder public education. Can’t have people able to critically think.

Oh, a lot of us can think critically just fine. Now, we may deviate from your philosophical BS or what passes as critical thinking in nonsensical liberal arts education ... you know, philosophy, psychology, political science, womens studies, sociology, scatology, etc type BS. Some of us actually acquired degrees for a purpose other than thinking we are "important". The 60s type education (back when the Neanderthals were more conservative) seems to have served many of us far better than the more progressive variants taught today ... most of us without the benefit of lottery based scholarships came away with meaningful educations or skills and little debt as opposed to what's going on today. By the way the people who've screwed up education are the education specialists bestowing their gifts on education from ivy towers ... they just don't know a damn thing about the purpose of education.

If you look at the recent voting maps ... the ones by counties, almost all states are actually red by county. Of course, the liberal counter is that land doesn't vote. Too bad the country is pockmarked by liberal pest holes that do vote.

How? What actions have conservatives taken to "hinder public education"?

Cutting funding, standardized testing, pushing charter schools, preventing professional teachers from being the professionals in their own field, creating a profit factory out of higher education... take your pick

“Cutting funding” - I assume you mean when they try to cut funding for the Dept of Education which pays hundreds of thousands to administrators who do nothing? Tell your local school boards to quit hiring diversity specialists and extra assistant administrative positions and actually Use the money for the actual students

“Standardized testing” - again from the Dept of Education and common core BS

“Pushing charter schools” - there is nothing wrong with parents having the choice to pull their students out of failing public schools with kids who are more likely to be felons in 5 years than ever being in class

“Prevent professional teachers from being professional in their fields” - what are you talking about here? Please give examples

“Profit factory of higher education” - you believe that conservatives run universities 😂 the government guaranteeing student loans led to that issue and students never are forced to take a loan

Lol. Complete bs. Ask Lizzy “Fauxahontas” Warren how much she was paid to teach one class in one of those profit factories.

Anyone complaining about stores not having items in stock while also being a Bernie Sanders supporter. Well that's what you would have on a monthly basis with a Sanders Presidency.
