2020 Presidential Race

I don't understand what is so difficult about this. I'm saying again, that if everyone is equal in value to a company, that it should not matter if they are white, female, Bama fans, whatever. All I'm saying, again for the fifth or so time.

That is a myth. There is no wage gap, there is a difference in earnings. Why?

Men work more overtime, take less time off for family reasons, don’t have breaks in employment for child rearing and ext.

Unpopular opinion: Not everyone should be allowed to vote.

If you want to be able to cast a vote you should either a) be a veteran of the armed forces b) have at least a trade school education or c) complete X number of hours of community service.

If you want a say in how our society is ran, you should contribute to it in some meaningful and productive way.
A know a fair number of people who served/are serving. some are some of the most worthless people ever who will never get anywhere close to sacrificing anything for our country. So I would say your A is crap as well.

and your solution is to do something that guarantees even more silence, even if the majority of any given state is that "opposition". Colorado voted 99% yes, but a majority of the country voted no, so Colorado's votes go to no. That's fair in your mind?

Before I would dissolve the EC, I would dissolve the two party system. Give me that and I would be much more willing to get rid of the EC completely. as it is the EC is the only thing that offers a little balance. a chance for smaller states to matter at all.

going pure democracy will drive up resentment a hundred fold. You don't like that some people's EC votes do not matter as much as others, so you propose a system that will literally invalidate a fair portion of the country.
The Left needs to move on from abolishing the EC. It provides balance to the system. We were never meant to be a "majority rules" government. We are a Republic, after all.

I went searching for your post after Louder quoted it just so I could say that this is one of the worst suggestions I've seen on this board.
A) plenty of idiots in the services, they aren't exempt because of their employer. Likely same number of idiots as the rest of us by proportion.
B) You going to tell people that they don't have a say in government when they have to help pay for it?
C) Now you want the government to force people to support itself when you just said those people weren't worthy for a vote?

Sorry for coming down on you CO, but this is a horrifically bad idea.

You are still basing pay on an antiquated system. It isn't the 50's.

The antiquated pay system of a consensual contract? Especially nowadays, workers can leave for another job quite quickly. Deregulation is causing companies like Target to raise their entry wage to 13 an hour. We only get unethical employment practices when the labor market supply is abundant. Right now, the labor market is so dry that companies can't pull stunts in the fear of losing workers they cant replace quick.

And it’s okay for you to call it horrifically bad. I served my country as well as have many others, just so that we can openly have bad ideas like mine. Thank you for respectfully disagreeing.

This would be a fact. I made the exact same amount hourly than my buddies in carpentry. It didn't matter that i was a woman. I find it hard people believe what some are trying to sell.

I think there is a lot of truth here. Much of the discrepancy can be reasonably explained with these simple facts, and it's not sexist. That doesn't mean it doesn't ever happen, though. There are still women that aren't being paid as much for the same job who aren't taking breaks for child rearing, but those have to be evaluated on a case by case basis. You just can't make a blanket statement that women make less, therefore sexism.

Yet you’re cool with them hiring certain folks simply because they are a minority. Then if they’re inferior to other employees and get paid less it’s because they are minorities. Lol

Indeed. You can get a good feel for what people truly care about. Which is why I say if the economy stays roaring, the Dems do not have a chance. People truly only care about their paychecks.
You don't want to hand over any power to someone you know is automatically going to take more. That being said the spending is totally out of control. I can think of afew countries we could cut aide to.

Did it for 45 years and retired. Now when I talk to people, it's on the internet.
I worked in retail in high school at a convenience store and if there was ever a compelling reason to get a higher education that was it. Between the drunks, thieves, scam artists and general jerks that was an eye opening experience for me.

Time and money are at the forefront of what people care about for sure. Maybe dims can pitch cutting the work week in half for twice the pay.

Pitch something that Bank of America is starting to do? I would honestly trash the 40 hour work week laws. They are so antiquated with the modern times. If people want to work 50 hours a week for their current wage instead of a 40 per week max, why stop the company?

Poll: 58% of Voters Approve Trump Economy Ahead of 2020

American voters were concerned about an economic downturn in a Georgetown Institute of Politics and Public Service poll that found 58 percent of voters approve of the president’s performance when it comes to the economy.

Registered and likely 2020 voters from both sides of the Republican-Democrat aisle were surveyed in the “Battleground Poll” from March 31-April 4 that reached 1,000, according to NBC News.

Of those, 59 percent expressed concern about the possibility of an economic decline. However, 58 percent approve of the job President Donald Trump is doing when it comes to the economy. The report noted that the president has been relatively consistent at a 55 percent overall job approval rating.
