2020 Presidential Race

Back the original discussion, I really don’t feel like requiring businesses to disclose pay stats is infringing on their rights or would hinder their ability to operate. They would have every opportunity to justify any gaps as well.

I do. It would be just another camel getting their nose under the tent. Once that happens you're not getting them out.

A company can operate any way it sees fit, the only "person" a business answers to is the bank who owns the lines of credit.

They can pay employees anything they want, regardless of competitive market pay or position or what sex you are.

If it's my company, I don't need to justify anything to anyone.

Yeah, I’m not going to do that. If you don’t like hearing opposing viewpoints, you can get the **** out.
getting rid of the EC will effectively silence any opposing viewpoint out there. It just accelerates our path towards the lowest common denominator, now people won't even hear about the other options.

The opposing viewpoint is silenced in the majority of states because of the electoral college.

Guess who is silenced with the popular vote?

The opposing parties.

Don't get me wrong, I vehemently oppose abolishing the EC in favor of a popular vote. But to his point the EC does silence conservative voices in places like IL and NY where 1 city controls where the electoral votes go.

It does. The ec is a collection of popular votes. I’m just pointing out that all voting silenced other parties, not just the ec.

I am not against proportional representation in the EC.

IMO the perfect system would be teh winner of each congressional district gets that electors vote and the overall winner in the state gets the 2 senate electors.

And here we go. What say you Bernie boys, you on board?

Bernie Sanders unveils his new 'Medicare for All' plan

Under Medicare for All, Americans would no longer pay premiums or face insurance deductibles as the government-run system replaced private health insurance offered through employers, the mainstay of coverage for more than 160 million Americans.

Big tax increases would be needed to finance such a system. The transition is likely to be complicated, dismantling the private health insurance industry and making major changes for hospitals, doctors, drug companies and other medical providers.
"What our system does is get rid of insurance companies and drug companies making billions of dollars in profit every single year," Sanders told CBS News for an interview set to air Wednesday, adding that private insurance would largely exist solely for elective medical care such as cosmetic surgery.

Unpopular opinion: Not everyone should be allowed to vote.

If you want to be able to cast a vote you should either a) be a veteran of the armed forces b) have at least a trade school education or c) complete X number of hours of community service.

If you want a say in how our society is ran, you should contribute to it in some meaningful and productive way.

Neither of the highlighted suggestions prove a person is contributing.

To me it is. Community service is contributing a persons time, and the education portion shows that a person is willing to contribute their talents.

Well thank goodness your opinion doesn't matter.

More proof of the inverse relationship between viewership and legitimate factual news. CSPAN anyone?
