2019 Vols Basketball #21 Recruiting Class in the Nation!

Auburn lost about as much as we did with a similar recruiting class. So we should be about even with them, maybe a little worse. Screw Memphis, but they'll be tough. Kentucky is always tough, but we always beat them at home. I'm distinctly not worried about Vandy.

We will be better than many think. We just did well with 3 stars and strong development. Now we are getting four and five stars and people think we are done.
I think it is likely that Williams and Schofield were extreme outliers. They were certainly developed, but they were also inaccurately evaluated. Neither of them is a 3-star talent. TN can't expect that kind of production consistently out of a lineup consisting of only 3-stars. Luckily Barnes is now getting some 4s and 5s.

Agree about Auburn. Don't think we can hang with Kentucky. Memphis almost beat us last year. They are going to embarrass us on our home court this year.

Hardaway built a wall around Memphis and I'm afraid we are going to pay for it.

If Grant Williams was a 3 Star, Michael Jordan was too. Not so impressed with Schofield. We'll see.

Memphis didn't almost beat us last year and they won't embarrass us this year. Also there's always a fence around Memphis no matter who their coach is.

Just have to see who is on the roster and eligible to play in a few months to even have an idea. Are we going to land a contributing grad transfer post? Is Barnes going to go into rebuilding mode next year and hope that James stays and joins the 2020 class? It's tough to lose 3 potential NBA players off the team when you've not been recruiting at a Kentucky/UNC/Duke kind of level.

Schofield was definitely a 3 star talent his freshman and sophomore years. Because of Barnes he developed into the player he is today. Same goes for Bone, Kyle, pretty much everyone besides Grant. Grant was the only one that came in right away and played above his rating. I think the last thing people have to worry about, is player development, in this program.

We have the potential to keep pace of past two years, but to use Villanova as example, though they reloaded with a bunch of 4/5 stars this year, they clearly missed the leadership/production of Brunson/Bridges this year, much like there will be a huge leadership void with admiral and grant gone. I think we can be pretty good, but it’s going to be tough, and definitely will need frosh and burns to be major factors.
