He won’t be as good next year and will have issues with developing his own players. Still a poor in game coach. Will do good enough to not be fired but this year was your one shot and he let Cheney blow it for you.

Based on what we've seen.....which is all we have to go on......there isn't much of a talent difference between Tennessee and the rest of the SEC. For 2 consecutive seasons, Vandy hung 40+ on Tennessee.

While I understand some of your argument, that the previous staff did not reach the full potential of what's there.....it doesn't change in 1 season.

When you have the worst season in school history, there is a lot wrong. And you can't look at the schedule and think that it's a scrub game and chalk it up as a "W".

You've been owned by almost the entire league for a decade.

Where did you hear that UGA fans wanted Kirby gone? I live in Georgia and am close to the UGA program and never heard anything like that. As far as developing players go, he got more out of Richt's players than Richt ever did. He's also recruiting better than Richt ever did, so its always weird to see the "lets see how he does with his own players" argument since his players seem to be better. On the in game coaching part UGA was top 5 in point differential in the third quarter, which is generally when you see the adjustments. I'll partly agree with you on the Cheney part though. His playcalling in the second half looked like he was playing not to lose instead of win. UGA won't have the same success this year with key players leaving and the East improving, but I still think they'll win the East though. Pruitt and Smart seem to be pretty similar. Both were great DC's and recruiters. IMO UT and UGA will be the teams to finally bring the power back to the East. UT is just a few years off. Once Pruitt gets his players playing his system they'll be a dangerous team. Best of luck UT fans :hi:

If you ever make it to an LSU game, if you listen close, when they chant L-S-U, it sounds like lost my shoe(That's not a joke.) it's my understanding they were good back in the 40s or 50s and again since Saban was there.

Auburn has been hit and miss since Bo Jackson. That's about the time I started watching UT football. They are gump's brother.

Georgia wishes they were Auburn. That makes them chumps.

A&M is for Texas A&M. I've got no hard feeling for them. They show respect unlike their little brother Texas. If it wasn't for the Volunteers from Tn they would be Mexico.

Indulge in happy daydreams of glories to come. Let what if glow with orange and white. Allow me to illustrate with an exercise similar to the OP's

Sept. 1 WVA in Charlotte - W: The breaks and the turnovers go UT's way. Sports hacks characterize it as the Vols' unearned victory.
Sept. 8 ETSU in K-town - W: The "showcase game" for their in-state little brothers is a Vols victory.
Sept. 15 UTEP in K-town - W: The Miners give the Vols fits, but a victory salves Vols fans' disquiet.
Sept. 22 Florida in K-town - W: Sports hacks first refer to the "Lucky Volunteers" in reporting their escape with a win.
Sept. 29 @ UGA - W: Georgia stumbles and bumbles their way to losing to the visiting Vols. "Lucky" again.
Oct. 13 @ Auburn - W: Barners are blissful until Tennessee refuses to go away and the breaks allow the Vols to steal victory. "Lucky" again.
Oct. 20 Bama in K-town - W: In utterly uncharacteristic fashion, the Tide spots Tennessee 28 points on turnovers, broken plays, and unfathomable breakdowns in special teams play. Saban is so livid, that the officiating crew asks Bama's trainers to look at him (honest concern for his health). Even the Hawaiian hero cannot overcome the gifts given atop UT's legit offensive output. Herbstreit calls Tennessee "the most fortunate Volunteers." Corso corrects him, "Lucky. Their just plain lucky."
Oct. 27 @ USCe - W: Muschamp's losing streak to Tennessee begins with a crushing home defeat.
Nov. 3 Charlotte in K-town - W: Big Orange fans are happy.
Nov. 10 UK in K-town - W: Hard fought game, though the Vols margin of victory makes it appear easy to those who didn't witness it.
Nov. 17 Mizzou in K-town - W: The final possession and the final score belong to the Vols. Victory!
Nov. 24 @ Vandy - W: Team 122 avenges the past two seasons' defeats by hammering the Commodores into oblivion. Even UT's 3rd stringers score. It's an epic route.

12 & 0, baby! Undefeated UT is playing in the SECCG!

Your nicknames are great, funny you mention what the fanbases think they are but you consider them toss up games...

Tennessee record in last 10 years in toss up games = 4-34

So in your mind we can talk trash to other fanbases with the following stats

Gimme Games = 25-22
Toss Up Games = 4-34

Total sec 10 years = 29-56

Perhaps you should reevaluate where you think Tennessee stands in the sec because all the slogans nkcknames emojis insults or whatever elsw you want to put up here will not change the numbers above.

1st of all, check your stats. They don't add up. An accurate account will change the numbers above. Your over zealous attempt to belittle me and the way I view our Vols has impacted the accuracy of your data.

I've posted before that we've had a few down years. Many teams have taken full advantage of our struggles.

At our worst and their best the scrubs have made out like fat rats. It only makes sense quality programs would too.

I stand by my original assessment of the programs in the SEC. The scrubs are gimmies. We just have to do our part. I expect CJP to get us out of the ditch we have found ourselves.

My numbers are accurate, check them all you want. Web site called winsepedia, lets you easily compare two teams. Don't see how you get that they dont add up.

And you can stand by your assessment all you want. Reality changes rapidly whether you are willing to accept it or not. Currently, no sec team is a gimme and the so called "scrubs" are now the true toss ups. And just so you are aware the upper echelon of the sec views us as scrubs and a gimme game.

Now CJP may change that but it will still take time to reversed the reputation we have earned over the last 12-15 years. But currently, we are the little kid throwing a tantrum because we are not tall enough to be on the bug boy roller coaster.

Your stats are bad. Even UTsports,com has wrong stats when it comes to our SEC record. Just figure it out. Don't be mad at me if you can't figure out your mistake or even if you can.

I've been to too many games at rival stadiums over the last few years to believe your assessment of how the Vols are viewed by other SEC teams and their fans. The joy they have after a win over the Vols tell me more than you can. I've been to enough scrub games to be able to tell the difference in the atmospheres. A win over the Vols is a feather in the cap of our rivals, even when we are at our worst.
