2018 Midterm Election Thread

I had the great honor of casting a vote for John Lewis on three occasions. Talk about a seat that is locked.

He is an absolute fraud,..He still lives in the 60s and is the biggest racist in Congress. Everything in his life is about race and hate

Soros push to elect progressive DAs in California fails to attract voters | Fox News

New York billionaire George Soros’ multimillion-dollar effort to reshape California's criminal justice system by propping up progressive district attorney candidates backfired Tuesday, with most of his candidates suffering major defeats.

Soros, together with other wealthy liberal donors and groups, spent millions on would-be prosecutors who favor lower incarceration rates, crackdowns on police misconduct and changes in a bail system that they argue discriminates against the poor.

But most of the money went to waste as their candidates lost to more traditional law-and-order prosecutors who didn’t share progressive views or have hostile attitudes toward police.

They have only 1 platform, take from the rich and give to the poor. This is their base. The only problem is their base never gets their share of what Dims take from the rich. How long will it take for their base to figure out they have been bamboozled? Maxine Waters owns a 4 million dollar home in California, Pelosi is worth 265 million. Neither one of them could alphabetize a rolodex. Ancient technology!

"Over the past 21 midterm elections, the President's party has lost an average 30 seats in the House, and an average 4 seats in the Senate; moreover, in only two of those has the President's party gained seats in both houses."

Just throwing that out there. Enjoy what's coming.

will you remember this when history plays out or will you preen yourself when it happens?

Let's see if a pimp can win against a Democrat.

Nevada pimp ousts three-term lawmaker in Republican primaries | Fox News

A pimp, brothel owner, and HBO adult reality star won the Republican primary for the Nevada state Legislature on Tuesday, The Reno Gazette-Journal reported.

Dennis Hof, who authored the book “The Art of the Pimp,” ousted James Oscarson, a three-term lawmaker and hospital executive.

Hof has dubbed himself “The Trump of Pahrump,” in reference to his Pahrump, Nevada residence. Hoff will face Democrat Lesia Romanov in November, and will be the favored candidate in the Republican-leaning Assembly district.

I figured one of our resident libs would have posted this by now calling for him to step down, I'm surprised.

Trump's forecast of 4% GDP growth close to coming true as Americans spend tax-bill proceeds

Surging consumer spending is driving GDP well above prior estimates, and it is now tracking near 4 percent for the second quarter.

That's almost double the pace of the first quarter.

Economists say the consumer is seeing the impact of the tax cuts and is spending, as a result of more disposable income.

The economy in the second quarter is tracking close to 4 percent growth — a level President Donald Trump raved about last December, just before the tax bill was approved. At the same time, he had also told reporters he was holding out for a doubling of growth to 6 percent.

For now, his 4 percent forecast is close to coming true on a quarterly basis, after strong retail sales data pushed up tracking GDP growth for the second quarter to about double the first quarter's level. The economy grew by 2.2 percent in the first quarter.

CNBC/Moody's Analytics Rapid GDP Update reported economists' estimates of tracking GDP show average growth at 3.8 percent, following Thursday's retail sales report. Their actual forecasts, which take into account economic reports yet to be released, is running at an average 3.6 percent.
