Here's the thing about AOC. I respect where she's coming from (her background, having two and three jobs to make ends meet, etc) and I think we need more folks like that in Congress. Lord only knows most people that get elected to Congress have completely forgotten where they came from and who they represent. She likely won't be any different down the road, but regardless, she fought her way through that primary by beating the brakes off her opponent that forgot who he was representing. A true grassroots campaign much like Trump's in the beginning (don't tell her that). She's full of hopes and dreams and wanting to change the world. I respect that.

Having said that to say this...

She specifically is NOT what we need in Congress. One needs to have at least a basic understanding of what they are going there to do instead of catchy phrases and "tax the rich!" slogans that time has shown don't work. As well as a basic understanding of geopolitics. If she's going to be one of the ones voting to place this nation at war, she needs to have a basic understanding of international discourse before she gets assigned to the foreign relations committee or whatever.

The biggest problem with her is she's a pretty young face (save the crazy eyes) that the DNC thought the country would respond positively to. Until they got her in front of a national level camera and saw what a moron she truly is. Which doesn't seem to matter as they allow Maxine and Nancy to continue getting in front of cameras, but anyway. Even the most die hard supporters of the DNC will privately admit she's an idiot and has no business in Congress. But, as usual in the game of politics, there are no take-backs. They are stuck with her being the "future" and have to endure the really uncomfortable interviews she does regardless of how slanted in her favor they are. And endure the two years or more she gets in Congress to speak about things she's clueless on.

She's gonna try to keep her head down for sure. I'd think she'd pop up on Meet The Press, but there would be no avoiding the questions she doesn't want to answer.

Stephanie Ruhle has called her out, although she has also been generally supportive.

Gotta be one of the dumbest people I have ever heard open their mouths, and dims voted for her in their district. This is what may be even more hilarious. That just goes to show you their intelligence level. At least she is pretty. That is about the only thing she has going for her.

DNC co-chair, Minnesota Rep. Keith Ellison denies abuse allegations from ex-girlfriend

The co-chair of the Democratic National Committee, Rep. Keith Ellison, was accused of emotional and physical abuse by an ex-girlfriend who said: "You know you did that to me."

Ellison responded to the allegations Sunday, issuing a brief statement that said, "I never behaved in this way."

The allegations surfaced Saturday night from Karen Monahan after her son alleged in a Facebook post that he had seen text messages from Ellison threatening her and video of the congressman screaming obscenities at her as he dragged her off a bed by her feet, The Associated Press reported.

"My brother and I watched out mom come out of pure hell after getting out of her relationship with Keith Ellison," 25-year-old Austin Monahan said.

On Sunday, Karen Monahan said that what her son posted was the truth.
