2017 Starting QB: Dormady or Guarantano?

I'm on a roll! Nother ban guarantee! This DORMANDY loser never returns from the three year long Spring Break he took with SHERIDAN, and there will not be a first DESHAWN Watson...much less a second! :aggressive:

What ever:crazy:

Nice work from the spelling police. Congratulations. You're awesome! Since you're SO good at correcting people, maybe you can help Butch with his press conferences.

You think I'm bad, wait until Kesling gets a hold of them in a game.

I'm banking on your next post with multiple DORMANDY issuances being intentional. :wink2: I don't have a problem with Butch's coachspeak...so nah. When Dormady has entered games, I haven't heard him mispronounce his name (maybe only some have a problem:))...guess we wait and see how he does with Guarantano.

You mean Guantanamo?

With Dobbs off to conquer space, who is our starting quarterback next year? This is perhaps more an offensive philosophical question than one of talent. If we stick with a spread offense, Guar is the natural fit as a dual threat QB who can run. Then again, if we change to a pro style offense, Dor is the natural fit as a traditional drop back passer.

Given Dor will be a Junior and has actual playing time, he seems the obvious choice. But if Dor is the QB next year, does the OC force him to run a spread offense? Unless we change coaching staffs (i.e. no DeBord and/or Butch brings in an old school OC), it would also seem unlikely that we'd change our fundamental offensive scheme... right?

So... barring something I'm missing, Guarantano is our starter next year. Which leaves Dormady disgruntled and ready to transfer. Ummmm... right?

Wrong. They haven't even done spring practice yet, and the fans don't get to vote on it.

OK. So, do we utilize a fullback and keep the threat of a power game or do we leave John Kelly in the backfield alone to protect Dormady? I love Kelly, but not buying that he's really 210 pounds. Ironically, seems to me, if Dormady is QB, we need a big Jalen Hurd type single back.

Although I disagreed with your opening post, I really do agree with you on this one here. FWIW. :hi:

I certainly hope that it's JG but he does have to earn it in practice and on the field. In college the best QBs are dual threats. Look no further than Louisville, Clemson and yes, Alabama to see why. Those are examples of schools with dangerous QBs. Any college D- coordinator worth his salt will tell you he'd much rather face a pocket QB with a cannon arm than a dual threat guy. In the NFL, the game's altogether different. I'd argue that guys like Heath Shuler and Tee Martin were better college QBs than Peyton.

I was kinda with you until that last sentence there. What? Please, try to make that argument with some data to back it up. Should be interesting.
