How many freshman in a P5 conference averaged 20mpg 6ppg 4rpg 1bpg this past season, I'm all ears?
Looks like a handful but what you have to consider is many of those names you listed were at programs where they played behind other top rated players
Again if Barnes is the elite recruiter we think he is he should be one of those able to pull that off especially considering that recruit should get every opportunity to play as there are no elite players on the roster ahead of them
And Giddens was behind a guy headed to the NBA?
I agree and don't think it will be as good but I don't think getting a top 100 big is unreasonable
If so then I am with you and would take this kid or the Tulane kid
No getting a top 75-100 kid is not unreasonable at all, but you basically seem to be saying that said player would be better immediately than Giddens, and that's where I disagree.
I think Giddens as a RS sophomore could easily be a 30mpg/9ppg/10rg/3bpg guy, I don't know if you can find any true freshman in the country outside the top 50 who's numbers resemble the ones I posted.
It seems pretty clear to me by the numbers I've shared that unless you get a top 25 type of guy that expecting more than 15-18mpg 3-5ppg 3-6rpg 1-2bpg is not very wise.
Check the Syracuse, Louisville, and Kstate stats.
Also Va tech signed a kid right around the 100 mark rankings wise and he played one game. Scored 13 and played 30min. Looked like he was well on his way. I guess he got hurt?

Dylan Osetowski is a transfer from Tulane who will have to sit out a year and will have 2 years left, Tennessee is one of the schools recruiting him..:
6'9" 255lbs as a sophomore: 32.4mpg 11.3ppg 8.3rpg 1.6apg 1.2spg 44%fg 27%3pt 68%ft
The numbers in your OP: 20mins 6pts 4rbd 1blk
Tyler Lydon is the only kid on Syracuse who fits that criteria of stats, and he doesn't fall into the 75-100 ranking being mentioned.
There's nobody on Louisville who matches that criteria and is a freshman.
There's nobody on Kansas Statw who matches that criteria and is a freshman.
That's a far cry from the handful of players you were trying to tell me there were, you literally couldn't even name 1 player who matches your criteria.
Wade at Kstate
And Spaulding at Louisville
Here's the point of my opinion.
Looking at your #s it appears that about half of the top 50 bigs are "productive" as freshmen
Looking very quickly at the 50-100 guys it's appears the are about 1/3 "productive"
If any of those kids transfer out after being "unproductive" the chances those kids can ever develop into a "center piece" or all SEC type player goes down. Much less than the 1/3 IMO
Neither guy meets the criteria listed.
Clearly your numbers aren't right as you told me there was a handful and I've still yet to see 1 guy who meets that's criteria.
It's pretty much common knowledge, typically guards are much more ready to contribute than big guys in basketball, it's not nearly as common to see a big man come in as a freshman and be a big time contributor (unless ranked accordingly).
Agreed it does take bigs longer to contribute for sure
Those guys listed were at or close to all the benchmarks given.
Close isn't at, and you would be the same way if the tables were turned. All that does is prove just how hard it is for you to find someone that fits that criteria, you're having to find guys who are "close", that's evidence enough.
Lol
I never said it was easy. All this board has talked about for a year now is how good a recruiter, evaluator of talent, and developer rick Barnes
If he is the HOF coach this board thinks he can a get in 2017 class that can be productive by putting up those numbers I posted
