It couldn’t have worked for anyone else. Everything that explains the first-time candidate’s mind-blowing success—his uncanny ability to read and react to people and to bait his foes into positions of weakness, his eagerness to accept risk, and, above all, his ability to trust his gut to navigate the race while eschewing professional guidance—is the result of an entire career in the public spotlight and the ruthless worlds of New York real estate, media and politics.

hog88 - it is an argument that I, internally, struggle with. I don't want to interfere too much with the peoples' right to own guns, but there are limits. I don't know the answer to the gun issue, but I think both sides have blinders on to some degree.

I have owned guns. I have a carry permit. I do not own guns today, not because I am against them, but because I made a decision that I felt was right for my situation. I have a 13 year old daughter who is home alone a good bit and has 13 year old friends over and they do 13 year old crap. I live in a good neighborhood where crime is almost non-existent. I found I worried more about my daughter or her friends getting into my gun cabinet than I worried about protecting my family. My situation. Everyone's is different. I will probably own guns again in the fairly near future. I miss going to the range on a regular basis, though I do get to go hunting from time to time and depend on the kindness of friends to loan me a rifle.

You should have been an attorney Clearwater. You make good arguments.

I have heard of vote buying but never paying someone to go sit at a rally. Jeb is desperate.

DES MOINES -- Two guys stand up and tell Jeb, "We've been here for two hours and haven't been paid for our time." Jeb kicks them out.

Ummmm,

He's not a first time candidate.

If I could offer a spot of advice along these lines...

Right now is the best time to be teaching said 13 year old daughter about firearms safety and taking her to the range as well. I'm not telling you how to parent as it's obvious you've done a pretty bang up job from what you've said. But it's best to teach her now instead of her being curious later.

Good advice. What if they are at a friends home and someone shows off with a gun? My kids would instantly understand the danger. You can't respect a weapon unless you have fired one especially in this day of video game slaughter.

exchange the bold for "the result of an entire career steeped in the political intrigue of Chicago politics and molded by left wing radicals" and you have Obama.

Essentially, Obama and Trump are identical. During their early campaign for the nomination, they both secured a huge base of adoring, almost sycophantic followers who could see no wrong in them.

Cults of personality are dangerous, especially in politics.

INB4 "But Trump is right".

Brook Baldwin was asking Sander supporters what Socialism is. Anyone care to guess how many knew.

How is that different from what I said. We are both saying the Republicans want to end abortion and make them illegal.

They are not the same Gramps. Your statement "force a woman to have a child" puts the emphasis on the woman who allowed (in most cases) herself to get pregnant. My statement puts the emphasis on the unborn child who clearly did not have a choice in the situation. jmo... but abortion is not (or should not be) a choice to be made, but rather is a "get out of jail free card" for a decision previously made.

A fetus is not a child until it reaches a certain age. Children can breathe on their own and survive outside the womb. A fetus cannot.

As for killing the child...

What about the morning after pill? It is just a souped up BC dose that may prevent a fertilized egg from implanting. Is that murder? Should they be illegal too or is there a distinction you are willing to draw?

Couldn't the woman drink alcohol, eat raw oysters, drink unpasteurized milk, fish high in mercury or are you legislating what she is allowed to consume during pregnancy, as well. Are you demanding that women all get proper prenatal care? Does this rule only apply to women considering an abortion or can you force medical care on those women that may object on religious grounds?

I can give you numerous examples of people that "can not survive outside the womb" by themselves, but they still have a right to life. I realize this is a difficult discussion for some, and will readily admit that I don't have the answers. In my opinion limiting abortion to the first trimester might be reasonable as middle ground. As far as your other positions, I do not want to hijack this thread so let me just say this. The fact that our government allows for abortion and yet will also charge someone for murder if they are responsible for a pregnant woman losing her "fetus" should tell you something is wrong. One day we'll look back on abortions as one of the worst moral decisions in history.

Trump was asked about the acquisition of armored vehicles for the Army and Marine Corps and said this.

"As long as US troop vehicles are armored, when they get hit by IEDs troops just go for a little ride."

From my understanding, 90 percent of all abortions are done within the first trimester. The vast majority of the rest take part early in the second trimester. Less than a percent would be considered late term. I can get behind late term bans barring danger to the mother or some extreme circumstance- the cases are already rare enough as it is. Second trimester entirely? I'm not sure.

Just thought I'd share the numbers. I think a lot of people often fall for the scare campaigns and pictures of dead fetuses from late term abortions and think that's happening all the time everywhere when it's actually not common at all.
