2016 Election Thread Part Deux

Ok, her campaign sure as hell did. You think she told them not to pursue it? She was desperate at that point and had to do something because Barry was gaining in the polls.

What part of the following didn't you understand? Stating "OK" and then going on to further a unsupported and disproven narrative is silly.

I know that it's not what you want to believe, but facts don't cease to exist because you don't like them.

Our ruling

Trump said, "Hillary Clinton and her campaign of 2008 started the birther controversy."

There is no evidence to support this. Clinton supporters circulated the rumor in the last days of the 2008 Democratic primary and after Clinton had concede to Obama. But the record does not show Clinton or her campaign ever promoting the birther theory, let alone starting it.

We rate Trump’s claim False.

I see and I totally get that there is not any evidence technically linking her to these allegations. However, does she and her husband not have a past shrouded in these types of problems and secrets? I feel like the things you do in the past tells me what you will do in the future. The Clintons have a history of playing extremely dirty, so as a result I am more inclined to believe Cheeto here.

What record would show a campaign feeding a rumor to the press?

Neither trumps lies, taxes, nor other liberal policies matter to them. He has an R by his name and is going to make things great! That's all that matters.

That very well is true, but comon man. Hillary started this thing and you know it because if something looks like a duck, quacks like a duck, then it's a duck

It's a baseless claim. Idk, nor do you. I do know that trump was one of the people who pushed the birther garbage the strongest and now sounds like he's running from it and blaming Hillary.

So if she started it, was he simply a pawn of hers?

Yes.

It came from her campaign. Go back to the genesis of the rumors starting and it is smack in the middle of the Democratic primary. Have you forgotten or were you not as engrossed in the primaries like you were in this election? When I was younger I honestly didn't follow them like I do now. Honest question.

It happened during the primaries does not definitively mean it came from Hillary.

If someone harmed Hillary, would it automatically mean trump was to blame?

Based on that rationale, evidence, apparently no longer matters. What one hopes to be reality, must be reality.

Forget evidence everyone, make assumptions and proclaim them as fact.

I don't even know why i'm surprised.

Sums up the Hillary campaign nicely.

It's the only plausible explaination. It fits the Clinton's playbook perfectly. Remember Bill saying Obama should be "getting them coffee" when trying to get Kennedy's endorsement for his wife? They play rough.

I read it and it's clear the rumor began with the Clinton campaign. Now, I without question believe it was just a rouge staffer who did it on their own. :thud:

Is promoting a story the same thing as starting the story?

Goal posts are shifting, stand back.
