2016 Election Thread Part Deux

Marco is still pretty young too. If he is willing to be VP and for some instance Trump wins he can be VP for 4 or 8 years and run for Prez again.

Yep. The exposure of being the VP certainly can't hurt him in the long run. It's a good career move for him regardless of what he says especially with him honoring his pledge to limit his terms in the Senate.

He could bring a youthful exuberance to the ticket as well as bridging the gap between the "establishment" and Trump.

Manufacturing Job Loss: Trade, Not Productivity, Is the Culprit | Economic Policy Institute

Conclusion: Ending the Great Recession in manufacturing
The leading cause of growing U.S. trade deficits is currency manipulation, which distorts trade flows by artificially lowering the cost of U.S. imports and raising the cost of U.S. exports. More than 20 countries, led by China, have been spending about $1 trillion per year buying foreign assets to artificially suppress the value of their currencies (Bergsten and Gagnon 2012). Ending currency manipulation can create between 2.3 million and 5.8 million jobs for working Americans, and about 40 percent of those jobs (between 891,500 and 2.3 million) would be in manufacturing (Scott 2014).

Not sure. I still am not a fan of Trump, but I'm less of a fan of Hillary. However, regardless of the way I vote, Oklahoma is in the bag for Trump so I don't consider my vote wasted if I go Libertarian.

Same here in Bammerville. LP it is but if we were a swing state I'd hold my nose and vote Trump.

You guys don't think Rubio's comments about Trump are disqualifying?

"It's time to pull his mask off so that people can see what we're dealing with here. What we are dealing with here, my friends, is a con artist. He is a con artist. First of all, he runs on this idea that he is fighting for the little guy. But he has spent his entire career sticking it to the little guy. Every business that he's ever run that's gone bankrupt — this guy's bankrupt a casino. How do you bankrupt a casino? How do you bankrupt a casino?"

"You ever heard of Trump Vodka? You have, well it isn't around anymore. Or Trump Mattress? Or Trump Air? Or Trump Ice? Or Trump Water? Those are all businesses that are gone, but they were disasters. Trump Hot Air — yeah. So, we cannot allow the conservative movement to be taken over by a con artist, because the stakes are too high. … Friends do not let friends vote for con artists."

Sorry, but there is no way Rubio can be on the ticket.

"At this point, what difference does it make?"

He's going to be asked that question literally every time he gives a speech or is in front of any press.

"Senator, how can you run with and support a candidate who insulted you and who you called a 'con man trying to take over the party'?"

There's no good answer. You know why? Because he was right.

Do you really want me going back to 2008 and finding some of the barbs traded between Obama and Clinton?

I'm sure there were some nastygrams in there, but he did not put her on his ticket.

My point is that he cannot effectively campaign for Trump after having made those comments. Same with Cruz, not that I think Lyin Ted would ever even consider it.

I remember some real poignant foreign policy barbs thrown her way by Obama and he made her SOS.

Yeah, there were some serious knock down, drag outs with those two in 2008. And she ended up being in his cabinet.

Point being is that plenty of candidates have said nasty things about each other during the primaries and ended up working together later. I mean for crying out loud, Bush 41 raked Reagan over the coals during the 1980 primaries and ended up being his running mate. There is something you still fail to realize this election cycle. And that is "there is no such thing as never happen."

Being in his cabinet years later is obviously not the same thing as being on the ticket, and spending every day for 6 months explaining why you now support the con man.

If he's honest, he'd say "Because he'll make me VP and that's pretty cool," we'd all have a good laugh and it would be old news in two days. But he'll feel compelled to give some mealy-mouthed answer about how he's spoken to him and hearts and dreams of the American people, and uniting, and not four more years of Obama, blah blah blah blah blah.

For which he will, rightfully, be mocked for those six months.

I see you read my post before replying. Nice of you to actually put some thought into your reply here.

While LG's posts give me a chuckle from time to time, I had a good laugh a little while ago when I visited my business neighbors for a few minutes. It's an insurance agency and they have this lady that came in to help while their regular receptionist is out on maternity leave. Somehow the conversation turned to politics and we were discussing who we were voting for. She makes the announcement she is voting for Trump. So I ask her "why not Hillary? She's a woman and all."

I get the reply of "because that b!tch doesn't represent me or any other woman."

Cool story bro and all, but I think I just fell for her. She's about my age and obviously has a good head on her shoulders. Not bad looking either.

Trump supporters seem to be better looking. I challenge anyone to find me one good looking Bernie/Hillary fan.
