It depends on your perspective. How important is gay marriage to straight people? That should be 10,000 on everyone's list, yet it's made to be important.
This country does need to be significantly less PC regardless of your views on trump. REAL issues such as the economy, sustainability (not theft and distributing stolen funds to losers) and the country's future should trump people's feelings every single time. The PC culture is for ignorant, worthless people.
No need to change as long as what he is doing is still working.
It's hard for me to feel sympathy for Trump and Trumpers. Sure, it's their right to get together and yell loudly, and I wish that these protesters would stop interfering with Trumpers' right to yell loudly. But Trump has requested the Piper, and the Piper now needs to be paid. You want to build a campaign off of tension, vitriol, and "othering" certain groups of people? Okay, that is your prerogative as an American. But you'd best be willing to face the consequences too. You've denounced and shat upon the barbarians, and now the barbarians are at the gates.

An obnoxious guy at a party is free to drink and insult his way through, but if another guest decides to punk him out as a result, it should surprise no one. You can call the law and have the assaulter arrested, but very few are going to feel much sympathy for the victim, as he made one personal insult too many.

"Overall, the former secretary of state led 50 to 41 percent among registered voters. Trump led 49-40 among white voters, while Clinton led 73-19 among non-whites. Trump led by five points among men and Clinton was up by 21 among women. Trump led by 24 points among whites without college degrees, with Clinton led by 15 among whites with degrees."
Blowout city. I weep for America.
In other words when you've allowed yourself to be so neutered that you can't discuss tough topics, then you've automatically lost. The other side can simply throw out bigot, racist, whatever phobe, or whatever ist, and you crawl away for fear of offending anyone and never discuss substance. All it took was for progressives/liberals to define acceptable speech - that's rolling over and being dead. Might as well order your little red book right now.
This is all a pile of horse apples. It's not anyone's fault that people like you hear dog whistles everywhere.
These are liberals. They do this every campaign cycle. They just feel more empowered since we as a society - to include law enforcement - now indulge their fancies.
PC is a disease. When you start changing the English language on campuses to avoid offending young adults, it's gone to far. Its a cancer that is contributing to the death of this country...
Illegal aliens and terrorism are lower-middle tier issues?
Wtf do you consider top issues? Safe spaces and feelings?
PC is not a disease, and the English language is constantly evolving. And if it is contributing to "the death of this country," as you suggest, then perhaps we should never have been a country at all, because we're apparently too big a bunch of sissies, PCers and anti-PCers all, to handle being a nation.
Calling someone "African-American" if they prefer is fine. Calling that same person "Black" sometime later if they change their mind is also fine. Doesn't mean they are flawless human beings, but it is simply a mark of respect for your fellow human beings. Being criticized for saying that gay people should not be married is also fine, because such a person clearly doesn't have any tolerance for their fellow human beings and only wants their own values constantly reinforced by law, at the degradation of others.
What you have a problem with are those who are hijacking political correctness and, in turn, acting like those they criticize - that is, they have no tolerance for the intolerant, and they then attempt to stifle their voices. Yes, that is a problem, but I would hardly call it "the death of America." If that leads to the death of America, then we are a bunch of spineless wimps, the whole lot of us. And no amount of whining from either side is going to save us.
It's a cancer. It undermines everything this country was founded upon. Anyone challenging it is persecuted...See Donald Trump.
And yes, this is just one of many things that are destroying this country.
It's always darkest before the dawn...
Some of you are really going to cast a vote this November because of political correctness?
I mean, I hate oversensitivity as much as the next guy, but you may as well go vote for banning pollen this spring or something.
Both votes will be equally useless.
You're not understanding anything. I doubt anyone is voting solely based on PC. But it is nice to hear a politician speak their mind for once. Also, yes, PC is holding the country back, but I doubt anyone is voting simply on PC. You're making up your own narrative.
You may be right, but some of you whine so much about it on here, it's hard for me not to arrive at the conclusion that it may very well be the dominant motive that drives some of you politically.
This country survived the near eradication of our indigenous peoples, slavery, a civil war, two world wars, Jim Crow, a violent civil rights era, an horrific depression, and some of you think PC will be our downfall. I mean, Jesus H., stop with the fearmongering already!
