2016 Election Thread Part Deux

Your anti Trump schitck is almost as bad as your Cheney obsession. You need to step down from your moral high horse. Quit thinkng that through your well thought out, word salad posts, that you sit atop a pedestal above those who support Trump. You are nothing special, just like the rest of us. There are those who support Trump, big deal. You dont. Big deal. I dont. Big deal. The reality is, every presidential candidate blows. They always will. We have one of the worst and most corrupt political systems in the world. Stop the fearmongering? Why dont you stop trying to invalidate peoples opinions?
That's his moral calling.

Sorry, it took me a few hours of laughing uncontrollably to a Trump supporter lecturing me about substance for me to respond. My apologies for the delay.

Yes, PC, it's destroying America, and it is the primary problem this country faces, along with illegal immigration, terrorism, and other fear-related lower- and middle-tier issues.

I'll give you a better laugh. You see, I actually despise Trump and all that he stands for. Basically a living reality show of no significance who has managed to turn a large inheritance and inherited privilege into an "empire" on the backs of others. He's been bailed out when the real estate market went against his speculation. Some of his ventures have gone bankrupt, but he unlike the investors and creditors came out just fine. Nothing illegal; he simply benefited from law that others wrote - just like a ratchet - work one way and ride free the other. Who better to scare the Republican party straight?

So why would I support him? Because when he spoke out on issues like illegal immigration to significant positive response, most of the other candidates were too dumb or unresponsive to get the message. Although I pretty much agree with you on terrorism - primarily a knee jerk response when politicians in over their head don't know what to do but look busy (translated: spend money foolishly), I do think borders are important and need to be fixed. If you can't control what comes across in the form of people and drugs, then you sure can't control what could be something worse. I'll out trump Trump on that one and suggest a minefield - cheaper than a wall, and trespass becomes a self-correcting error.

The biggest problem is still the economy, and as long as politicians dole out welfare of one sort or another to people, corporations, and other countries it will remain so. To the Democrats "life is good" - just keep handouts going to their voters and the votes will keep coming in. On the other hand if the Republicans are unwilling to be fiscally responsible, what good are they? In eight years they've managed one completely un-electable dunce and rubber stamped almost all of Obama's train wreck - with friends like that ....

Former Bill Clinton concubine, Jennifer Flowers, will be appearing on stage with Donald Trump when he begins his general election campaign in New York City. :)

So you think Trump draging a former porn star out against Hillary will really have an effect??? You people really are delusional.

You may be right, but some of you whine so much about it on here, it's hard for me not to arrive at the conclusion that it may very well be the dominant motive that drives some of you politically.

This country survived the near eradication of our indigenous peoples, slavery, a civil war, two world wars, Jim Crow, a violent civil rights era, an horrific depression, and some of you think PC will be our downfall. I mean, Jesus H., stop with the fearmongering already!

Remember when Eric Holder said "Though this nation has proudly thought of itself as an ethnic melting pot, in things racial we have always been and I believe continue to be, in too many ways, essentially a nation of cowards," and "we, as average Americans, simply do not talk enough with each other about race."? We are so conflicted over what we can say and how we can say it that we cannot have that discussion; it's like there is no existing language to breech the gap. So instead of actually discussing what and why and if and ...; we'll just continue paying reparations for whatever.

Trump told a crowd in Utah yesterday that Romney might not be a real Morman. Trump is not down 42 points to Cruz in Utah now.

I know Utah is as red as red gets, but I'm seriously wondering if they'll come close to swinging blue if Trump gets the nomination. He is anathema to everything they stand for.

Just as you said that more data from Utah came out. Only 29% of Republican voters in Utah said they would vote Trump in the general election.

They say that now. But when they see Hillary on the other line I'm sure they'll reconsider (Even though they both suck).

Not THE downfall. It is certainly hindering progress. Hell, aren't you a prof? Retards in college can't even be around "trigger" words? They can't handle an opposing opinion? Safe spaces are created to shield them from the real world and you think people that oppose those retards are whining too much? GTFO

These are the retards you're educating and helping to prepare for the real world?

How the f do you expect them to have to work with different cultures and other countries? Other cultures aren't nearly as sensitive as we are for these retards. Working internationally is the wave of the future and all.

With all due respect, you're the last person who should lecture others about dealing with difference. You're about as tough as a nerd in a nerd convention.

Some of you are so obsessed with Dick Cheney. I haven't even brought the guy up in a couple of months or more, yet on you all go with him.

It's getting kind of weird.

Good, reasonable post, although I still don't understand what any of this has to do with supporting an anti-Constitutionalist.

Ok.....? I work directly with cultures from all around the world, that's why I'm embarrassed about the future of the USA. These kids will get destroyed by the world, unless of course they just have women's studies degrees, other worthless degrees or become professors. That way they won't actually have to do anything productive, hard or deal with others, just sit back and cry.

You're concerned about Internet toughness? Ha

New poll just out in Utah. Waiting for Arizona and California to come in. Expect Wisconsin to go Cruz's way.
Cruz: 53%
Kasich: 29%
Trump: 11%

Fact is, a significant part of Trump's success is based on taking advantage of seething racial resentments, which have been lurking just beneath the service for some time.

And thinks to Trump the Republicans could lose 11 senate seats and 10 house seats.

The 2016 Senate races favor the Democrats.
The R's will be lucky if they hold the senate regardless of who the nominee is.

John McCain is in a tie with his Democrat opponent. If anyone but Trump is the front runner that doesn't happen.

"McCain’s path to victory is complicated by the likelihood the GOP ticket will be headed by Donald Trump, who has an overwhelmingly negative rating among Hispanic voters, a powerful and growing electoral bloc in Arizona."

Utah hasn't voted for a Democrat since Goldwater vs. Johnson in 1964.

John McCain is probably in a tie with his opponent because he's been sitting in that chair since 1987 and what has he done? What has he done in recent years to make his voters happy?

In a year where incumbents are getting trashed for sitting on their duff and doing nothing to help the current situation, incumbents are going to have close races. Same thing happened to Lamar Alexander in 2014 when he had a Primary challenger (Steve Carr) that got within 9 points of defeating him.

People are fed up with the old hats sitting in Congress for life and not doing a damn thing but making matters worse.

The people of AZ may be getting tired of his BS. McCain is running for his 6th term in the Senate at 80 years old. An 80 year old mind is not what it use to be.

I do not think for a minute that McCain is in a tight race per the polls because Trump is leading in the GOP primaries. McCain has made his opposition to Trump very clear.

IIRC, he had some tough opposition in the primary in his last election, per the polls but he pulled away in the end. McCain is leading by 1% but the number to watch is the 16% undecided. That is a large number of undecided, especially when a 5 term senator
running for re-election.
