That's true but a kid growing an inch or two while in college isn't out of the question either. That's what I got attacked on saying.

That Grant Williams could grow one to two inches from now til his senior season. That's very possible more than not likely.

Attacked is a little over the top. Like I said before, I disagreed with you. If we all agreed about everything, this place would be boring.

You did attack me over saying a kid can grow 1-2" but it's ok. I'm all over it now. No hard feelings or anger at anybody. Let's just move on from this & continue the thread in a different direction. Thanks!

Other than the obvious lack of size, what are likely the biggest deficiencies with the 2016-17 team? Barnes's biggest criticism has been recruiting... which is irrelevant to the question as I've phrased it. I believe that they will be as well coached as they have been for the last several years.

Depth and consistency at perimeter shooting might be THE problem. The kid from Carter is supposed to be a good outside shooter... but freshmen often struggle to consistently knock down 3s. Mostella showed some potential last year, but just wasn't consistent enough. Punter's is going to be a tough role to replace. Even Baulkman had some moments and even when he was in a slump, he was still a threat and couldn't be ignored by the opposition.

So without a powerful inside offensive presence or a proven perimeter shooter it could be a difficult season. At least several of the perimeter players do seem to be capable of penetrating... but TN will need some offensive diversification in order to take a step forward. Maybe Hubbs can excel with the mid-range pull up jumper. Maybe the Canadian can become an offensive weapon. Maybe Mostella can emerge like McRae, Richardson, and Punter have in each of the last 3 years. I think that Turner could be outstanding, but I hope he'll have a weapon or two to complement his game.

Mostella will not develop like them their last year's if anything we can hope he on the same track as them. A 10 point decent junior season to a balling senior Year.

UT bkt associate HC Rob Lanier on possible starters: Lamont Turner, Robert Hubbs, Shembari Phillips, Dietrick Mostella, Kyle Alexander

Lanier said Robert Hubbs is `new and improved’ and has a
great mental approach. `He looks like a young man primed to have a great year.’

Lanier called Phillips tough, physical competitor. `If Kentucky had Jamal
Murray that guy’sgot a fight on his hands’ if Phillips guarded him

Lanier no longer has concerns about how committed freshman Jalen
Johnson is: `He put more time in the gym than anyone except Lamonte Turner’

Sounds about right with maybe Admiral starting over Mostella or Phillips depending on the gameplan

Only surprise to me would be phiilips over Evans or Schofield, however it looks like Hubbs will play some 4 if that's the lineup. With the number of guards we have on the roster going small and paving pace, possibly some pressing could be a possibility for us.

Barnes said on today's conference call that Alexander had the best practice of his career this past week, said he was hitting a number of baby hooks they've been working with him on for over a year. Also said Schofield is a different player since his surgery, said he now gets a full nights sleep which has really helped his conditioning, before he was lucky to get 3-4 hours a night.
