Besides dunking, what attributes do they have that are redundant? Their skill set is pretty opposite. Spacing in on the PG and coach.
Their biggest strengths are rebounding and finishing at the basket. They are both great in the pick n roll. They both are great on fast breaks.
Jordan is a great rim defender and Griffin is not, so there is that. Griffin thinks he has mid range game but anything more than 10 feet and he misses a whopping 60% of the time. Griffin has some post moves but that doesn't really compliment Jordan IMO.
BG actually is developing into a much better player than I thought he was in the last couple years. Passes well, handles well, and when he's not shooting jumpers he converts in close. I was surprised to see his usage rate was highest on the team, assist rate was 2nd, and turnover % was nearly best of his team. All from a guy a year or two ago I thought would never be more than an athletic dunker. Yes, he doesn't rebound, or create a lot of blocks/steals, but I think he fits well with the Clippers. They don't need a true stretch 4. They just need BG to manage his shooting and play average defense since he has DJ there.
good riddance to the Spurs
Rebounding? I guess you missed Blake averaging a whopping 7.6 this year. Not that having a PF and C rebound is a bad thing.
His passing was more impressive than his rebounding this year.
Blake is drifting away from the basket on offense, and is becoming more of a point forward. He shot better from 16-3pt than he did 3-10 this year, Though both were bad.
I don't get the fast break part, that's not exactly a bad thing when you have CP3
Would you prefer a stretch 4 with DJ?
