2015 NBA Finals Thread

Today Cowherd was talking about something Bill Simmons wrote, if the Pistons had the #1 pick the year Lebron came out, instead of #2 and they had taken Lebron, they won the title the next year with Tayshaun Prince at the 3 with 4 other all stars. Do the Pistons win more than one title (yes) and would Lebron be thought of as a better player than he already is? Imagine that team, Billups, Rip, Lebron, Rasheed, Ben Wallace, 5 all stars that year.

I have him as #2 all time, it wouldn't change that. I don't judge only on rings. But imagine if MJ never went to play baseball, 8 straight titles 8 straight finals MVPs. For most nobody would even be able to sniff his azz crack at that point.

Jerry... If lebron deuced out in the middle of his prime and sacrificed chances at titles, do you think he'd get extra credit for it? Jw.

Edit: and I know with lebron losing in the finals, not being on a roll of winning em, it would be different.

I don't give MJ extra credit for it, if anything it hinders his legacy a little for me. So the answer is no.

The general public would probably crucify LBJ for it vs MJ being supported for it.

Was just posing a hypothetical.

It sounded like you were giving him extra credit via the hypothetical. I may have misinterpreted, my bad.

Not at all. It's like Shaq and Kobe not getting along, I kind of shake my and think you threw away a couple of rings.

At what point do Love and Irving's injury history start to become a concern?

YR GP Love
09 81
10 60
11 73
12 55
13 18
14 77
15 75 - Missed postseason

YR GP Irving
12 51
13 59
14 71
15 75 - Missed finals

The odds of those two being healthy at the same time during the postseason when it counts? If history continues repeating itself, Lebron would be lucky to have one make it a full postseason without having to sit due to injury.

If/when the Warriors win all espn will talk about is what love, and Irving weren't hurt. Which sucks for golden state

Lebron's best chance is to try to be Harden. Spread the floor for him. Drive and kick. You just leave it up to hope that Jones, Smith, shump and co. hit their 3s

Won't work if they're not doubling and just letting him get his.

Well let's be honest, nothing is going to work, but if they don't double him and he can't beat his guy then screen ball every time.
