If he knew beforehand that people would hate him for it, why would he have done it? Are you saying after the fact Lebron decided "oh yeah, the proceeds are going to the Boy's Club"?

FWIW:

For his position, Cole is below average in:
points, shooting efficiency, rebounds, assists, steals, and blocks
he's above average in:
turnovers

Bosh is a good scorer, but he's so far below the average center in rebounds and blocks that he has no business playing that position. I feel like Lebron would be a better option.

I think he had a small inclining that people were going to be pissed he left Cleveland. So yes it totally feasible that he made a calculated effort to lesson the backlash. I think LBJ is a very smart, image conscious guy. As I said, he could have just written a check. Not saying he did or didn't, I'm saying what it felt like to me. Ftr I didn't hate him for the decision or the pep rally, he's a grown man he can do what he wants. He wanted to be courted if you will, and wanted to hype the city on his arrival. I just felt he used to be very childish, making a list of people to tell off during the Dallas series was a perfect example. He's grown into his voice so to speak the last few years, and I have a healthy respect for him now.

Their first finals together, when they went up 2-1. LBJ put together a list of people after game 3 that he was going to call out after they won the title. Which to me is very pety and childish. Early in his career he came across as a guy that had been pampered his whole life, which he was really, and his spoiled attitude bugged me. As I said though, he's matured a lot in Miami and I respect the guy.

Reports out of the locker room, multiple sources. Steven A. Smith said it as well. As obnoxious as he is, he's built an excellent reputation around the NBA and is pretty careful when reporting stuff on the NBA.

I think ESPN and the people around LBJ were more responsible for "The Decision" than LBJ himself was. He let himself be put in a bad situation by using the poor judgement young men(which he was) have. I think he learned a lesson from it.

As for leaving Cleveland, he wanted to win a championship. Can you blame him? It worked out quite well for him.
