2014 Damn NBA Playoffs Thread

Why is this a ghost town in a closeout game?

I never thought I'd be saying this, but with the way the last 2 games played out, I'll be rooting for the Spurs....WTF is wrong with me?

I wonder if most of the players that get put out are kinda relieved it's over since they've been playing for so long or they're actually pissed about it.

The money in the playoffs is a joke as far as the stars are concerned. I can't remember what the figures are, but it's nothing special, and Aaron Baynes makes as much as Tim Duncan.

I know in the NHL the playoff money is (relatively) tiny -- less than $10k per player per round to begin with -- and it gets divided up more or less evenly among everyone on the roster. The NBA probably has a bigger playoff prize pool but relatively speaking, it's probably comparable.

Don't watch much NBA until the playoffs come around, but I would laugh if the Clippers somehow won it all and Sterling was barred from any celebrations. Would be better if they could force him to sell before hand, but that will be a long, drawn out process.

Not to mention the butthurt BJ would suffer over OKC losing.

Boo to you

Take it easy. I don't care that much, I was just drinking a little bit and I like laissez faire officiating. Good luck in the next round.

Why was nearly every first round series 7 games, and the 2nd round we don't get a single one? So random.

Pacers/Wizards and Spurs/Blazer were total yawners for me. Heat/Nets was pretty boring except the 4th quarter of the closeout game. Really disappointing.

Pacers/Wizards was just bad basketball. Spurs/Blazers was a predictable beatdown. Nets/Heat I don't like either team so i had a hard time caring.

Was gonna say the exact thing. 2nd round has been so much disappoint. Thought the Wizards/Thunder would go 7 and one would get the upset.

For all their talk this year about wanting home court advantage in the playoffs, the Pacers have been horrible at The Fieldhouse so far. They're 3-4 in home games, but 5-1 on the road. Go figure.

Heat became the first nba team to win a playoff series vs a team that swept them in the regular season. So much for that perfect number it was going to end some time.

Thunder vs Spurs
Thunder have won 10 of the last 12 so clearly they are the Alamo the spurs can't overcome or haven't shown it yet. This is a matchup nightmare for the spurs their kryptonite.
Spurs could win the series but I doubt it'll be easily as the heat over the nets as the thunder are a superior team with the Batman Durant and Robin Westbrook.
How sweet it would be for the spurs to get so damn close the nba finals and choke before they get there denying them a return to the finals.

Heat vs Pacers
The pacers are garbage when hibbert and George play putrid. Pacers will have to consistently play good to beat the heat.
They'll still have some stinker games possibly and if it's consistently as in two in a row it'll be damn hard to win. Down one game is manageable but two games vs the heat is having to bench 200 pounds 30 times in 25 seconds kind of hard.

Pacers Wizards was hot garbage. :)
Nets Heat was nets getting exposed showing they don't have the weapons to beat a topnotch heat team at full strength.
Not shocked nets barely beat the raptors and nearly choked in game 7. Like the colts in the second round they got exposed.

"Exposed" implies that the Heat made something visible about the Nets that was not previously visible. That is not true at all, the Nets were exactly what people thought they were going into the playoffs.
