Dawson said even his father, who joined him on the trip, was impressed by what he saw.

“He said if he had a chance, he would go to Tennessee,” Dawson said.

Sounds like Dooley has won over the father...

Says Clemson still leads, but the Vols definately impressed him. Also says that playing early is very important

[The 6-foot-3, 233-pound Dawson said he still views Clemson as his top choice, just as he did before the visit, but UT isn’t far behind. After the Tigers, he named Louisville, “then Miami, then Tennessee” in listing the other schools currently at the top of his list.

Clemson has enough LBs... Why are we having such a hard time getting the attention of big time LBs? I see that we are in the top 5 or 10 with a bunch of them, but why can't we land any?

This isn't "the sky is falling" kind of post. I am just curious as to why we are having a hard time at this position.

I honestly have no clue what Clemson is doing..but they are pulling elite talent across the board really. I know they have a good recruiting staff...but their WR's and LB'ers are just sick.

“[Louisville] just swept me off my feet,” Dawson said. “Louisville has always been my second choice of schools [behind Clemson]. Louisville is now in the running with Clemson. I really like Louisville. Those two schools are the team beat. Clemson is still on top, but I really, really, really like Louisville.”

How will Dawson choose between Clemson and Louisville?

“I’m really not sure,” Dawson admitted. “I don’t really know what it’s going to come down to. I’m glad I didn’t commit to Clemson earlier when I started to because Clemson, Tennessee and Louisville, all schools that I’ve seen, made me feel like family. I’m not sure, when the time comes to make a [decision] it comes.”

Face it, we have fallen on hard times. This is as down as this team has been since I have been following them. Many teams have passed us by. Hopefully the next 2 or 3 years can bring some respectability back to the program. Lord knows it needs it.

We've done well recruiting Offensive talent, DB's, and turned things around recruiting D-line although its not all the way yet.

LB's just lagging because there is always something that lags a little behind other areas when trying to turn things around.

I don't think its a specifically an issue of elite LB's not wanting to play here.

I think the issue is of the elite guys we have been getting, for the most part they haven't happened to have been linebackers.
