J. O'Neal is playing solid d so I don't think the Perkins trade is the reason they're down. The celtics just haven't matched the energy of the Heat. They could also very well turn it around and win this series. I would love it if the Heat knocked them out though.
O'neal has been playing well? Against the Heat in 2 games he has a total of 6 defensive rebounds, 1 block, 0 steals, and 8 fouls. Not great defense in my mind. In those 2 games, the Heat shot TS%'s of .537 and .561 so the Celtics don't appear to be playing good defense.
Pissed at Ainge. I was getting all giddy to see the Heatle's dreams get crushed, only to have Danny boy trade away the keystone to the C's title hopes. Unless the Bulls are actually much better than they've looked so far these playoffs, the East sucks just as much as it has for the last few seasons and Miami will be riding that wave of mediocrity right to the Finals for years while ESPN slurps them the whole way.
It seems to me both the East and West haven't looked as strong in the playoffs. I thought this was a year where the top 4 teams in both conferences were much stronger than most years. I've changed my mind on that.
Fo rlz? Pretty simple with the Spurs, while Tim Duncan was finally getting older, the Spurs guards had them playing a style that was conducive to winning a lot in the regular season. You could tell something was awry. Hell, Memphis deliberately tanked at the end of the season to get the Spurs. Speculation, but I'd put down money that says the Lakers, Mavericks, Thunder and even Memphis could win the eastern conference this season. This of course pending finding out what's up with the Bulls.
And it's not just at the top, it's top to bottom. Compare the records that will get you in the playoffs in the east vs in the west. With Perkins gone to OKC, one conference is absolutely brutal and the other has Miami, maybe Chicago then a bunch of chumps.
To be fair, bruises usually hurt more and have a more lasting effect than having your elbow joint violently ripped out of place and reset.
