To be fair, bruises usually hurt more and have a more lasting effect than having your elbow joint violently ripped out of place and reset.

Have you had a dislocation of a joint before? The stiffness, swelling and discoloration due to a joint being violently ripped out is blood and fluid, or a bruise. If Rondo had al elbow bone bruise, it would be more tolerable. His ligaments and tendons have all been basically sprained, which adds to pain, swelling and range of motion.

It kinda depends. I watched my friend dislocate his shoulder in pickup hoops. He popped it back into place, took a minute, and continued to play. All dislocations are not created equal.

I don't think it was, but dude was tough as balls. I played hoops with him a week after he had been thrown from the bed of a truck and the back tire ran over his chest. He was nuts.
