'19 FL QB Brian Maurer Commits to UT

When the power programs in your own state don’t offer, you’re not that good.

Besides, if he’s so awesome then why do schools like Appy St feel like they have a shot at him?

And go ahead and give me the Baker Mayfield example since I know it’s coming anyway.

Last point on this. Recent Top 7 pick in this yrs draft, Josh Allen was not offered by the major State Schools in California. There's tons more examples besides Mayfield.

Lol right? This evergrenevol character is ridiculous.

Lol, you're absolutely right. It would be different if this kid hadn't been one of the top elite 11 QB's and recently started getting big time offers. But these kids Pop up every year in camps and their SR yrs.Our staff hasn't given us any reason not to trust them, with their history of recruiting and developing players.

Okay? And Tyson Helton just had one of his QBs go Pro who wasn't even on anyone's radar.... So what's your point.

I can help you here. Clay Helton, USC’s head coach, was the key in getting Darnold. He’s one of the most respected and best offensive coordinators in the NCAA. We tried to hire him. Tee Martin and Tyson played a role, but Clay was the point on his signing.

I'm confused who coached QBs for USC? Oh that's right..... Tyson Helton....

Darnold was a late blooming QB and didn't start getting attention till he started doing camps and what he did at the Elite Eleven. He was never going to leave California once he got that offer. Butch Jones could have been USC's HC and he would have gone there. But Tyson was the one coaching and developing him as his QB Coach.

What is Helton’s history in signing Blue chippers?

And Clay had nothing to do with his development? Please..

If you knew anything about football you would know Jimbo didn't get fired at FSU, he resigned. Urban offered him, like I previously said. Lane Kiffin offered him, like I previously said. Mullen Wasn't why Tebow went to Florida and it didn't take much to evaluate a 5* QB in Tebow.

OMG...........! Yes, YES, He wanted to leave...

And yeah bro, I do know ball.

I couldn't say, I wasn't on campus during Sam's years at USC. Obviously you were, I just know who his QB Coach was and the main one working with him daily. Clay also coached Receiver's and RB's before QB's, so does that mean he also developed USC's RB's and WR's? That's a busy a$$ HC and obviously underpaid to do all that.

Uhh okay here you go. He has coached many players throughout his career but specifically as a QB coach he coached the following:

Joe Webb - became the first player in NCAA history to pass for over 2,000 yards and rush for over 1,000 yards in consecutive seasons.

Brandon Doughty - passed for 4,830 yards and 49 touchdowns, and was awarded the Sammy Baugh Trophy.

Sam Darnold - Needs no explaination.

Thanks, that is impressive.

Guessing this is what the staff saw also.

Biggins ranked Maurer 10th among his top performers at the event, while 247Sports national scouting director Barton Simmons said Maurer was a "revelation" at the camp and has "the arm talent to emerge as one of the elite quarterbacks in this class."

Maurer's consistency over the three-day event especially impressed Biggins. "He didn't have a bad day," Biggins explained. "He was really consistent on that first Friday workout. ... Then Saturday was the pro day. Twenty throws, the whole route tree, accurate every single — whether it be the short stuff, the intermediate, the deep. He was exceptional through the 7-on-7.

"The best day was that Sunday, which was the 7-on-7 workout. That was kind of like separation Sunday where you've got to make a good last impression for those guys when they pick the 12, and he was on fire. You could probably say he was a top-three, top-four guy on that 7-on-7 workout, getting accurate, throwing on time, his arm was alive.

Do your own research.....lazy

Lmao..Do yours! Mullen has never been considered a great recruiter. Mullen has never signed a *5 recruit as the primary recruiter. His top 2 recruit's he's helped sign,Tebow and Carl Moore he was the secondary recruiter He's never signed a bluechip QB as a players primary recruiter..How's that for research?

Dan Mullen, Head Coach (FB), Florida Gators

Tyson Helton was the Primary recruiter on 2 Top 4 QB's including a *5.

Tyson Helton, Offensive Coordinator (FB), Tennessee Volunteers

How's that for research bro??
