A Florida 3 Star is a Tennessee 5 Star.

Hoping for the best.

A Florida 3* is a Tennessee 3*. There's a wide range in 3*s (the high end are SEC caliber players) and the lower end are AAC players.

There was a lot of people complaining about Worley only having 3* with his stats and at the end of the day, he was a 3* player.

I see no reason to not be optimistic on this one. He has speed and athleticism. He probably just needs to add weight. Otherwise, I'm betting he would already be a 4*. By Rivals, he has a 5.7 ranking. That is as close to 4* ranking as you can get without being there.

Exactly! And he's a *4 on ESPN.

Great pick up for our Vols but I don't think he's a day one starter. His junior stats are pedestrian. 57% completion percentage. Meh. Now i heard from others he plays on a bad team so that could explain some of it.

He performed well at the camps so that's a plus. However, bullets weren't flying. I think he'll be a project. I hope the staff still goes hard after Harrison Bailey for the 2020 class. Time will tell. Welcome to the Hill Brian!

I kind of see things your way. However, Helton might be seeing a foundation he can build a Heisman, Inc. on. Or at least a P. Manningesque II clone. We'll see.

I think the Worley bird wasn short changed by both a near nonexistent OL. That and being made to play a sort of spread style that didn't fit the type of QB he was. Might be true for Peterman too, look at how did in Pittsburgh.

Is it just me or does this kids throwing motion kind of look like Tyler Bray?

Catbone told somebody she's a guy in a rock band. Or maybe he said he's a girl in a rap band. I coulda heard wrong.

For all the 3* critics, this is Florida, and not every QB can be a 4 and 5*, not sure you understand how that gets computed. It takes a lot of time, money and traveling to get your stars, and he was an elite 11 finalist, runs a 4.5 can make all the throws..........., I think Helton has seen enough QBs to know who has "it"...........so, can anyone name the last 5* QB that has gone on to the NFL and lived up to all the hype.........without looking it up? fyi Tim Tebow was a 5* and we know how that turned out. here is a list:

2002 – Vince Young (Texas), Trent Edwards (Stanford), Ben Olson (BYU).

2003 – Kyle Wright (Miami).

2004 – Rhett Bomar (Oklahoma), Xavier Lee (Florida State), Anthony Morelli (Penn State), Chad Henne (Michigan).

2005 – Mark Sanchez (USC), Ryan Perrilloux (LSU).

2006 – Mitch Mustain (Arkansas), Matthew Stafford (Georgia), Tim Tebow (Florida).

2007 – Jimmy Clausen (Notre Dame), Ryan Mallett (Michigan), Tyrod Taylor (Virginia Tech).

2008 – Terrelle Pryor (Ohio State), Dayne Crist (Notre Dame).

2009 - Matt Barkley (USC), Russell Shepard (LSU), Garrett Gilbert (Texas).

2010 – After evaluation, Rivals failed to find a five star quarterback.

What's your point? I think most folks on here want production at UT and only care about the NFL after he does it here.

Your list may include NFL busts, but not all were NCAA busts.

At least half of them had good to great college careers. There might have been a few national championships and Heisman Trophy winners in there, but you can look that up if you are that interested. They were achieved in college, so maybe you don't care.

Some of you folks would benefit greatly by spending some time on the recruiting forum. This isn't the only QB the staff is after and another QB with a decent offer list was told he needed to look elsewhere if Maurer committed. Coach is getting who he wants and his opinion on talent is a little more dependable than the average poster.

Wouldn't call Ohio St, Texas A'M and TN weak. Plus Kiffin..

When the power programs in your own state don’t offer, you’re not that good.

Besides, if he’s so awesome then why do schools like Appy St feel like they have a shot at him?

And go ahead and give me the Baker Mayfield example since I know it’s coming anyway.
