I don’t think we passed on Hurts. I don’t think he would’ve come here over OuBetter player...no argument. Only quarrel is with the notion that anything was passed on...there’s no knowledge of that. If you’re Hurts, do you even leave Bama for UT. I’m convinced he would have stayed if OU hadn’t been an option.
Swanson for Prez. For some strange reason some Vol fans have a hard time wanting multiple elite QB’s on the roster. They get attached to one QB and that’s that, they don’t want another QB as good or better to join the team. We say things like “can never have enough lineman or RB’s or DB’s...” But when it comes to QB’s many Tennessee fans only want 1 good one and a few backups to fight over the clipboard. It’s very odd.
I vote that our staff brings in 1-2 elite QB’s every year and let them compete. If a guy or two loses a job and leaves, oh well, sign another or take an elite transfer like JT Daniels if they’re available. It’s the most important position in all of sports and you can’t limit your roster to only 1 or 2 good ones, to play nice, if you want to win championships.
Yeah, I'm 27, but I've lived in Knoxville, Nashville, Arlington, DC, and Boston so far. But I was a Red Sox fan well before I actually moved to Boston, it just worked out that way. I'm still in mourning and don't know what to do about my profile pic/name yet.
I don't think it's a matter of whether he's a "good QB". Its about giving TN the best opportunity to win this year. No one knows if he would be the next Burrow or not but he's clearly a very talented player so if he can come in and win the job then great, if not then ok too. Give TN more options at the most important position. I love JGs toughness but clearly we need an upgrade at QB. I hope that Bailey is it but the more chances TN has to improve the position the better. Then we’re assuming he’s a good QB or one advanced enough to display that showing up in August or worth jerryriggin the roster to get him in. The mere opinion of not wanting him doesn’t make one stupid. I trust the coaches to make an educated decision.
