Not concerned about the 3* rating but I an concerned that he is Pro style. These days you need a dual threat to win in the SEC.

He has a redshirt year to burn and if a RS freshman bests him, I think he uses it in a transfer. Sheriron is starting his third season with the RS year already used. A "trick" play of Penix to Yankoff would certainly come in handy.

If this kid wants to commit then they should take his commitment. He still has a lot of physical development needed but he has a tremendous amount of raw talent and athleticism. This is exactly why you hire a QB coach IMO. So you can develop raw potential. Anyone can add a little shine to a practically finished product. Let Canales earn his money.. If this kid were 30 lbs heavier he would have a much higher ranking.

All I want is for Penix to sign and Yankoff too and then for them both to be on the field in a special offensive set with Yankoff as WR so we can hear Bob Kesling say "Now Penix to Yankoff!"

Why take a 3 star QB with a weak offer list in February? An Oregon offer ain't what it used to be.

Butch is off to a good start for 2018. This commitment would trend in the opposite direction

He's already swinging for the fences. They are still going after their top targets. No reason not to take this guy now. He's not gonna scare anyone off.

Only short sighted star gazers will have a problem with the take if we keep pursuing our top targets. If we take this guy and stop recruiting the qb position (which we won't) then you would have a point.
