Wednesday night, Litaker visited with new Vol defensive line coach Brady Hoke. Litaker said he was surprised to hear about the coaching change in Knoxville, but is looking forward to getting to know Hoke more when he's on Tennessee's campus for the Vols junior day.
It was kind of surprising to me. I didn't see coach Stripling moving from the defensive line position. He is a great coach. I think I spoke to coach Hoke one time when he was at Michigan. I was surprised about the move. I will be down there February 18th for junior day so that I can get to know coach Hoke and he can get to know me. He's already reached out to me and said he can't wait to get to visit with me, Litaker said.
It was important that he reached out to me. I know he is busy and as a lot of things going on. It was good to hear from him and like I said, I'm looking forward to getting to know him starting next weekend at the junior day.
Litaker also has a tie new offensive line coach Walt Wells. Wells' brother, Bobby, coaches Litaker at Riverdale High School and Wells will be heavily involved in the Vols' mid-state recruiting efforts.
Litaker himself will be heavily involved in the upcoming recruiting process as he's in no hurry to make a decision and wants to see several schools. Litaker knows with the class of 2018 taking center stage that schools around the country are trying to get his attention and want to visit with him. It's something Litaker is trying to take in stride.
