'18 DT TN D'Andre Litaker

Junior Day this weekend...

The state of Tennessee is very deep in 2018. One of the places where it's deep is in the line of scrimmage. One of those big names is four-star defensive lineman D'Andre Litaker. The Murfreesboro native has liked Tennessee for a while and getting him on campus is big. New offensive line coach Walt Wells has a tie to Riverdale High School with his brother being an assistant coach on the staff. Litaker is one of the biggest priorities in the state in 2018.

Really likes LSU , UT, and aTm wouldn't really say there's a leader but I do think UT is in a very good place at this point.

De1, have u worked with Litaker, Lawless and Emerson? Imo, Litaker and Lawless look like kids with a little baby fat, I am sure they have plenty of time to grow into the bodies and fill out with muscle, but Emerson looks like a grown ass man, who can contribute as frashman, wherever he chooses to play college ball. Do u agree with me? Of course, I am only going off pictures and highlights, never seen them in real life

I know Lawless and his parents, and train Litaker. I have only seen Emerson at a camp. All 3 look very impressive in real life but all 3 could benefit from a real s/c program.

Thanks de1. Sure would be nice to get all 3 of those kids, but like MeatLoaf said "2 out of 3 ain't bad". I would prefer Litaker and Emerson if we only get 2. The main thing is Butch can't lose 2 or all 3 of these kids after what happened with in-state recruiting in the '17 class

for crying out loud, one of the kids we "lost out on" from 2017 ended up at UCF and another's "dream" school was Memphis. please.

I am guessing that tirade was meant for me. I know Eze was going to Memphis, wasn't really talking about him or any player in particular. The 2018 in-state recruiting class is the best in my lifetime(46 years). I thought we underperformed in recruiting in Tennessee last year. Sh!t happens. I understand that, but I feel like, UT needs to dominate the state of Tennessee this year. It's just my opinion, but 2 consecutive years of not getting most of the in-state top kids in recruiting is a bad look. Especially with those years having more talent than ever. Please settle down, I wasn't attacking Butch. I actually like the 2017 recruiting class better than most people. I just wanted a couple of more in-state guys. Phillips and Higgins, mainly. Wanted Stephens, too, but I also know we had no chance to get him

"I got to see what coach Hoke is all about," Litaker said. "I learned that he is a really great dude and he cares about each player. He knows the game of football, but doesn't just care about football. It all just said that he's a great guy. We sat and talked and it was really good. He thinks I'd be a great fit along with Greg (Emerson) and Brant (Lawless) and we watched their film too."

"Walt is a crazy dude," Litaker said. "We have this promise that if he texts then I have to call him. We have probably the best relationship of all the schools."

Litaker said Tennessee recruits him the hardest and they are "hardcore" about their approach. He feels at home in Knoxville and understands that several other top players in the state are also heavily considering Tennessee. "It's a blessing to know these people and have them with the same offers as I do," Litaker said. "To see what each player thinks and see what they see at these schools."

"Everything will be said and done by the end of the summer," Litaker said. "I want to get out to all my schools in the next few months. I want to see each school and hopefully I will know and can end it by the end of summer."

He gone!

~is that how this works 🤔

Everyone really seems to love Walt Wells I must say. Hopefully his coaching is as good as his recruiting.

Agreed. Really surprised at the energy surrounding this promotion. Haven't seen that that in OL recruiting going back forever...no, not even in the Pittman year. Further interested in how he seems integral in our DL recruiting targets.
