'17' TN ATH Tee Higgins (Clemson commit)

I can't wait to see Clemson get that butt kicked when Watson leaves. They're like Oregon a few years ago. It wont last.

Clemson squanders talent like nobody's business

They'll be back to their old ways this year and lose to NC State or something

What I'm confused about is our current commitments. HJ and Amari are going after everybody on Twitter. They are actively recruiting EVERYBODY. Meanwhile, with the exception of Cade Mays in 2018, our guys are quiet. Confusing. We need guys like Rodgers and HJ recruiting for us.

Losing has hurt UT. Choking away those games last year makes it easy for other coaches to negative recruit against UT-- and against CBJ. Top recruits want to win, and they want to play for coaches who have shown they can beat top teams and compete for championships. CBJ has a terrible record against top-tier SEC teams, ranked teams and our rivals. It's not hard for other coaches to convince a recruit that wants to win championships that they won't win them at UT.

Low expectations and negativity are everywhere. Even with all this talent and depth, a lot of UT fans question whether we can beat UF, Bama, UGA and aTm. A surprising number of UT fans think Team 120's ceiling is 10-2 or even 9-3-- neither of which is likely to win the SECE.

Last year killed the benefit of the doubt. After three years of buying the pitch, top recruits want to see results.

5-7, 7-6, 9-4

how is that not results? takes time to rebuild, cant go from 5-7 to 12-0 in one season, anybody who doesnt realize that is ignorant

yes we had tough losses that looked bad, but its gonna happen to rebuilding teams, this year will be different and yes, as it stands our ceiling seems to be 11-1 or 12-1 we are not perfect or ready for a championship season imo, would need a miracle

but these kids all realize that Tennessee is on the rise and anybody who doesnt wanna jump on the train then **** em

Wishing him well is a common, mature thing to do. Throwing a tantrum like a petulant child is not.

Fandom is about being mature?

Wearing certain colors on Saturdays and screaming, chanting fight songs hoping a 20 year old kid can outrun or knockdown another. Thats mature???

Too much of our current fanbase think being a Vol fan is a responsibility. You're doing it wrong. Its ok to be emotional as a fan. Its ok to irrationally support or have faith in your team.

He's the next Leroy Thompson, will be a great player and will go to the NFL. Other than that, his integrity sucks since he committed to UT two weeks ago

Seriously, what is up with recruiting this year? The Vols are better than they have been in over a decade, won 9 games last season, are being picked to win the east and contend for championships, and the staff is struggling to land anybody. What is going on here?
A lot has to do with that we can't sell a vision anymore or playing time. What we have to sell is results now. We are at the stage where what we do on the field will sell itself for years to come. It hurts losing such a talented player to Clemson but 1) the process isn't over and 2) clemson has been a better team and WR group the past 7 years.

Exactly, I am tired of seeing posters wishing him well at Clemson. Anyone who grew up being a Vol fan and goes to the one team 90% of us would most dislike him to attend, then the hell with him and really hope Clemson begins to fall on hard times. Everyone seems to think they are invincible but I don't remember many big wins other than the Watson years which are coming to an end.

Didn't do well with Chad Kelly. HJ better than him?

Very true, but I have never been a good loser. Actually if I could have deleted that post would have done so but as it happens with most hot tempered people, and I am, it was too late!

The great coaches can win double digit by yr 2. Even Mack Brown and Bob Stoops got TX and OK back to being contenders by yr 2or3. Pete Carrol got USC back quick. And these teams were mediocre at best during the 90s
