'17' TN ATH Tee Higgins (Clemson commit)

People upset over this are acting like internet children. So he wanted to leave the state nd had good reasons for doing so…big friggin deal. Did he tell the coaches something different during OCD It probably was hard not to tell them what they wanted to hear. The kid is a teenager and just one wr in a nation full of them. Who cares where he goes to high school, good luck to him and I hope he has a good career.

All is not lost, we don't ned to fire coaches and cry into our natty beers. TRUE championship teams don't get all the recruits they want but instead of being sore losers they look out that window and say, whatever, onto the next battle, we will get ours, probably from another state that we steal from some other hometown fans.

Dabo probably mentioned how TN won battle for Josh Malone. And into his jr yr he isnt even mentioned by nfl. Same thing would probably happen to you Tee if you went there

the WR group has not gotten better since this staff has been here. Every other group has increased production.

Gotta take a hard look at the coach man. Reality sucks

My previous post said this year will be the telling year about the WR unit. But I will agree with this 100%.

Usually I'm just able to let recruits go where they want with no gripes, but man...this guy took us for a ride. Not a fan of his anymore. Not that it matters to him, but just saying.

Seriously how do you lose a five star that grew up under the shadow of Neyland stadium. Not just that but all the other in state kids.

They pick someone else? We 'll do times tables next. :)

If all this wasn't so silly and childish it would be humorous. We still have a long way to go until NSD and those NOW questioning CBJ ability to recruit is right up there with about the most ridiculous things to come along in a while. I feel I know the game fairly well so I'll take OL and DL over "skilled" position players any day. THATS WERE CHAMPIONSHIP ARE BUILT!!! Always has been - always will be. Having said that I sure hope we can flip Tee in time.,,but if not trust me we'll be fine.
RELAX VOLNATION.,,holy cow!!!

Amari Rodgers out recruited the staff.

Recruits recruit better than coaches ever can. They are there peers and friends who they want to play with. The coach is just an adult figure who organizes it all. In the end Dabo should be thanking Amari more than anyone else.

Orange Venom and Skeeter called it for the good guys. Game over.

DAMN!!! Pretty embarrassing that Higgins, Rogers and Richardson are ALL from TN and ALL committed to Clemson, and Trey Smith is NOT guaranteed to come to TN either.

So thats 3 of the TOP players in TN, besides Trey, that ARE NOT committed to TN.

Can't say ANYTHING else except thats unacceptable. Come on Butch gotta Re-build that wall again around TN, now that Clemsons Bull dozer has knocked it down. :realmad:

Losing has hurt UT. Choking away those games last year makes it easy for other coaches to negative recruit against UT-- and against CBJ. Top recruits want to win, and they want to play for coaches who have shown they can beat top teams and compete for championships. CBJ has a terrible record against top-tier SEC teams, ranked teams and our rivals. It's not hard for other coaches to convince a recruit that wants to win championships that they won't win them at UT.

Low expectations and negativity are everywhere. Even with all this talent and depth, a lot of UT fans question whether we can beat UF, Bama, UGA and aTm. A surprising number of UT fans think Team 120's ceiling is 10-2 or even 9-3-- neither of which is likely to win the SECE.

Last year killed the benefit of the doubt. After three years of buying the pitch, top recruits want to see results.

And what is ironic about this post? This was Clemson not very long ago. They choked many times, in an inferior conference with an inferior schedule.

It's gonna be so lonely rooting for my team alls by myself on here. If just this one player had given a verbal commitment and saved the program. :cray:

Fandom is about being mature?

Wearing certain colors on Saturdays and screaming, chanting fight songs hoping a 20 year old kid can outrun or knockdown another. Thats mature???

Too much of our current fanbase think being a Vol fan is a responsibility. You're doing it wrong. Its ok to be emotional as a fan. Its ok to irrationally support or have faith in your team.

I can be an exuberant fan and still wish a kid well even when he doesn't choose the team I support.

It has alot to do with Amari. He is such a punk he won't even play for his own Dad or his Dad's old school. That ought to tell you all you need to know,

Maybe so. Each player is different though, and part of that falls squarely on Josh. His lack of motivation at times has not helped him.

Most of these kids don't even know who Dooley is. And they don't care. Other coaches are successfully convincing top recruits that they won't be able to realize their potential at UT. This is a big picture issue-- losing hometown and in-state recruits just shows how successfully other coaches are recruiting against us.

I agree I watched a playoff game last year where Hunter struggled bad against Indiana competition , well that Saturday I was in Knoxville and I got to talk to hunter and his dad in the parking lot and he was blaming his WR's and his line, but if you turn on Jarretts film against one of the top teams in the nation IMG academy you will see why we were so high on him, film doesn't lie

Hunter will get beat out by Chase Brice and transfer. There is a reason the staff took Brice and his dad was added to coaching staff after Hinter commit. Hunter will recruit all these studs and Brice will reap the benefits
