This is not that big of a deal, it's the day after signing day and the kid wants to be sure he's made the right choice. I know he's local but in his lifetime Tennessee has been good for 1 year and every major school in America is on TV every week. He'll be a Vol in the end

This is why kids should wait till they know in their hearts where they really want to be, it's not a big deal these are kids and they need to just slow down enjoy every visit by coaches and visits they make to every school and enjoy and embrace the whole recruiting process. My question would be what's the difference in committing 1yr from signing day or the day before nsd?

It's one of two things. He's going to Clemson or he wants a cooler commitment. If he doesn't announce to Clemson before school starts back then I think he just wants a redo and wants a flashy Bleacher Report commitment.

My goodness. Quit with the beta, loser mentality. Everytime a recruit commits to another program other than UT, all I read/hear is how the other program cheated/paid the recruit. Whether it be Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Ole Miss, Georgia, USC, FSU, Miami, Clemson, Ohio State, etc. It's childish & embarrassing. Could it possibly be that Tennessee hasn't been relevant in almost a decade & Clemson just was in the National Championship Game? Could it be that Clemson is displaying All-Pro talents such as DeAndre Hopkins, Sammy Watkins, & Martavis Bryant in the NFL & Tennessee has Patterson sitting on the next as a 1st-Rounder because he can't learn a simple out-route?

Sometimes in life you lose & the best thing to do is accept it & move on. Making excuses & pointing fingers/blaming others isn't helping the situation. Tennessee is better than that. If Higgins doesn't want to be a Vol, then so be it. Best of luck to him. But Tennessee has signed 4* & 5* WRs for years & years like no other team in the nation. UT will be fine. The Vols are about to do something special very soon & Tee can either decide to be part of that or he can watch the highlights on SportsCenter.

Clemson is real good right now. Totally agree with you except that Auburn is one of the schools that not only pays with a handshake here and there but is on a level few schools go. Clemson is like us and every other normal school. Auburn and Ole Miss when needed, really pay recruits at a very high level.

Well if Clemson keeps it up they may start signing more TN kids than TN does. Maybe he wants to play with guys he knows?

I've said it for a while. I think 2016 will prove to be a mistake. Hopefully we win and kids and their coaches forgive/forget. I'm not sold instate recruiting is going to go smoothly this year. We'll see. Its off to a rocky start.

Clemson is like us and every other normal school. Auburn and Ole Miss when needed, really pay recruits at a very high level.

Smart lady. I agree with that. If a kid is going to take official visits he shouldn't be committed to another school. I respect that position.
