I did see in another thread where someone said Butch needs to take only 5* kids in 2017. May have been D4H. Maybe Butch told Higgins to get to stepping and go earn that 5th star or don't come back.
I think saying anything less than top 5 is crazy.
It's not. Butch has proven himself a great recruiter. In state talent is the best its been in who knows how long, already lead for the Number 1 GA and Number 1 NC recruits. Butch says it starts at home, then he needs to prove it. Lock down OUR STATE and its easily top 5 class.
Ok did a little digging with my source and he said tee is a little enamored with Clemson at the moment but the same thing happened with Oregon before he committed. Likes Hunter quite a bit and that's part of the draw but my guy still says he is 100 percent committed to Tennessee and will be a vol come signing 2017 unless Butch is no longer coach. He told me as long as Butch is there Tee will be a Vol. Butch is all over this one guys.

Probably did but I don't think that would fly with Tee. Also, don't think they would do it on Auburn level. They did things under Ford but don't think we it is much more than a car at most.
I agree.
I was really hoping they would have focused on instate guys a bit more in 2016. Just taking 3-4 more could have made a huge difference. Especially going into 2017.
I could care less what "someone said" in another thread. all respect to D4H or whoever else might have said it, but Butch listens to them about as much as he listens to me.
No, I doubt Butch sent Higgins away, that is just nonsense. If anything, he may have hoped Higgins might be a peer recruiter for in-state talent. However, with current players getting involved like JRM and Kamara were on NSD, that might not be as much a priority as it was for the '14 & '15 classes.
However, as I am sure others have said by now, it's better for him to do this now than later. Sure the staff, once they get ready, will counter this loss with a quality commit within 30 to 45 days, if not sooner.
Isn't Jalen MacKenzie in the '17 class? Or is he in '18?
