'17' TN ATH Tee Higgins (Clemson commit)

You said he (Higgins) was better than any WR prospect that UT has signed the last 10 years. That's ridiculous.

Preston Williams, Josh Malone, Marquez North, Cordarrelle Patterson, Da'Rick Rogers, Justin Hunter, Denarius Moore, etc. All in the last decade.

I kinda said outside of CP. but I guess you don't read. I said as a prospect coming out as well. Forgot my opinion can't be posted because I'm stating my opinion. Oh okay........

Yeah you're a D4H level poster. IMO

I'd put CP at the WR level with James Banks and Kelley Washington. Great athleticism that allowed them to make plays at the college level. He had Tyler Bray and James Chaney.

Wouldn't do much better with Coach Cut.

Neither were close to CP as an athlete. Now I'm not a fan of Chaney as an OC. Cutcliffe is on a completely different level. IMO

Id rather had kept Hunter and have Rodgers and Higgins.

If Dormady was wanted then surely Hunter should have been

I'm sorry but I personally would take CP over the others. My style of WR. I like the exciting athletes. Would love to get him in a college system for 3 years and see what he could do.

Stallworth is my other favorite as a Vol.

Then Pickens is my third.

I won't argue with you over your favorites. We all have them. Mine just happen to all be on that list.

The only one on the list that I don't remember watching is Flowers. I was alive then, but too young for me to remember now. The rest I still remember vividly.

I just remember seeing CP and he was something like no other I've ever seen at Tennessee. Was the one player I've seen at WR for us and I felt he was the best athlete on the field no matter who we were playing.

In terms of pure athleticism, I think Hunter takes the top, although CP is close followed by JB and KW.

IIRC, both Banks/Washington played QB and WR at UT. Think both returned kicks as well.

I do read. I was just including every WR prospect UT has signed the last decade that I thought was better. So what about the other 6 I named? And I am aware you meant WR prospects coming out of HS. I answered with that in mind.

IMO, Higgins doesn't come close to showing the impact or potential that Da'Rick Rogers did in HS. I haven't seen Higgins do some of the things Williams did in HS either. Or Hunter for that matter. I would maybe put Tee on the level of where Malone was coming out of HS, but not near the others right now. He still has his senior year though.

And who said you couldn't post your opinion? I'm just responding to your opinion with my own (different) opinion. Just because someone doesn't agree with you, it doesn't necessarily mean they are saying you can't talk or voice what you think.

CP with the ball was silly. Hunter could run and jump like crazy. CP could stop on a dime, play with power, and out run your entire defense. Remember the reverses versus Miss State and Georgia(who had NFL talent all over the field). You've never seen a WR in the SEC make those type of plays.

Other than just developing a friendship because they're highly sought after athletes from the same region, do Higgins and Amari Rodgers have any other connection? Have wondered since they visited Clemson together.

CP was special...but nothing can match polished route runners like Kent and Moore...that's what makes a WR elite. Antonio Brown is best WR in football right now and lacks measurables of CP.

How was Denarious Moore better coming out and he couldn't even catch the ball well coming in? No one expected him to turn into that level of playmaker when he first came out. You're hilarious......... Dude was the package deal for Creer.

Tee is much better than Malone coming out. Much more aggressive as a pass catcher.

CP was a true pleasure to watch. Great athlete. You may also be right in that "If" he had had proper coaching he may have been one of the all time greats at WR.

Most of those on that Top 10 list are legends though. As fun as CP was to watch, we will never be a UT legend. Great athlete or not.

I grew up watching Larry Seivers.

not sure about the spelling...........

He would go up and get the reception..

anybody else my age?

Antonio Brown is kinda the quickest WR in the NFL though. His work ethic is much better than CP. But I still take CP over the others. We saw him straight out of juco late summer into college football about a month later. He didn't have a full offseason to learn the system at all.

Is the CP you guys are referring to Cordarrelle Patterson--the guy who was not very good as a receiver at UT and has been a TOTAL BUST as a receiver in the NFL? He's a kick returner--period. Fantastic athlete, great runner in the open field--but not a wide receiver. I just checked his Viking stats for this year--2 catches! They will not keep him much longer.

I would say Antonio is perhaps the best WR but definitely not the "quickest". Tayvon Austin has insane quickness, more so than Brown IMO.

The WR's back in the day were fearless. Seivers is one of the first I remember well. I was probably about 9 when he went to TN. He was one of my heros back then.

Edit: just checked. I was 9 when he got there. 12 when he left. Loved watching him play.

so................... does complete package included EVERYTHING?

Or just routes....speed.......blocking downfield.....pre snap calls...... sticky fingers...........speed.......reading defense.....

i can't keep up with what it takes to be a complete WR....
