'17' TN ATH Tee Higgins (Clemson commit)

No one pays better than Clemson.

My goodness. Quit with the beta, loser mentality. Everytime a recruit commits to another program other than UT, all I read/hear is how the other program cheated/paid the recruit. Whether it be Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Ole Miss, Georgia, USC, FSU, Miami, Clemson, Ohio State, etc. It's childish & embarrassing. Could it possibly be that Tennessee hasn't been relevant in almost a decade & Clemson just was in the National Championship Game? Could it be that Clemson is displaying All-Pro talents such as DeAndre Hopkins, Sammy Watkins, & Martavis Bryant in the NFL & Tennessee has Patterson sitting on the next as a 1st-Rounder because he can't learn a simple out-route?

Sometimes in life you lose & the best thing to do is accept it & move on. Making excuses & pointing fingers/blaming others isn't helping the situation. Tennessee is better than that. If Higgins doesn't want to be a Vol, then so be it. Best of luck to him. But Tennessee has signed 4* & 5* WRs for years & years like no other team in the nation. UT will be fine. The Vols are about to do something special very soon & Tee can either decide to be part of that or he can watch the highlights on SportsCenter.

Clemson recent WR success>>>>>>out longtime WR success right now.

We really need production in the passing game this year to show WRs when Dormandy/Jones/Guarantano will still get them the rock

Per 247 Sports

Tee Higgins, a junior wide receiver and Mr. Football winner from Oak Ridge High School, announced on his Twitter account on Thursday night he has decommitted from Tennessee.

Higgins, who committed to Tennessee in August, is rated a four-star prospect by 247Sports Composite. He's considered the No. 39 overall prospect and No.7 overall wide receiver in the nation for the 2017 class. He's rated the No. 3 player in Tennessee.

The 6-foot-4, 185-pound Higgins caught 52 passes for 941 yards and 18 touchdowns last season. He also posted 41 tackles, three interceptions and returned 11 punts for 355 yards and a TD.

Hate it but the depth chart is there.

There should be no doubt. When you don't focus on instate talent every year, it can lead to this sort of thing. Hopefully we get him back in the fold.

Really need in state kids that you recruit/offer to be loyal so you don't have to waste resources on them. Because Tennessee needs the resources to recruit across the country. JMO. I mean, Tee could have been a big recruiter for this class.

He wouldn't even be playing with deshaun Watson and hunter Johnson thinks he doesn't fit our offense and Clemson runs a similar one. Clemson is the "cool" team right now. He will be back.

Edit: I just wish we had one kid instate that would commit early and recruit like heck to get others on board.

The kid lives in the shadow of Neyland Stadium. Has a chance to be on a team that has the chance to be as good as any Tennessee team in the last 15 years save next year. If he doesn't want to be apart of that then fine. We're going to be great with him or without him.

I think Tee just wants the attention and enjoy the process. This one has a long way to go so I'm not going to worry about it until next year.

Thanks mom. Michigan says hi.

It would be awesome if butch was like ok and Donovan Peoples-Jones committed along with Princeton Fant followed by QB N'kosi Perry. Wishful thinking I know. Lol

Let's not get into instate kids and honoring or sticking to commitments. I've had that discussion.

Could be a case of getting more national attention and maybe parents wanting him to explore the options, take official visits etc.....I'd tell my son the same, although I'd push him toward my choice lol

The only problem is that it can be dangerous "exploring" with Clem$on.

Another factor could be since he is a big time receiver, he's looked back on his commitment and decided to see how Tennessee can pass the ball this year and go from there.

This. We need to prove we can use a big time WR, keep him healthy, and/or fire Azzanni

I just don't understand this. We're getting better than we have been in a long LONG time. Why wouldn't a local kid growing up in neyland stadium want to go here and help bring other guys with him? I mean I just don't understand.
